POSITION SUMMARY
Oversees data analytics, business intelligence/reporting, and operational intelligence teams for the company. Leveraging strong business acumen, integrates findings from internal data analysis (leveraging POS, Black Box Intelligence, and other sources) to proactively diagnose business performance and generate overall point of view, insights, and recommendations for CKE. Provides thought leadership and serves as internal consultant to drive data-driven, fact-based decision-making and analytical support for key business partners, including, but not limited to: Executive Leadership, marketing, operations, information technology, restaurant development, and supply chain.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
May perform any or all of the following duties:
Leads assessment and evaluation of all key consumer-facing company initiatives, including, but not limited to: menu item performance and new product launches, digital investments (loyalty, mobile app, and delivery), and restaurant development initiatives. This includes setting KPIs, effectively applying and communicating a “test and learn” approach to ensure statistical significance of key initiative impacts upon the business.
Leads cross-functional deep dives into business initiatives and evaluation, including price sensitivity analysis, menu white space analysis, and identifying operational opportunities.
Provides senior management with executive-level business updates on trends, both external and internal, to provide perspective and recommendations on decision-making. Similarly, presents internally to key stakeholders on ongoing business results.
Creates “Weekly Business Review” for the Executive team to enable productive discussion weekly on key KPI trends.
Leads sales forecasting for CKE including overall business forecasting, business planning bottoms-up forecasting, and predicting product sales at the unit level for supply chain.
Leads/builds a team including data scientists, data analysts, and business intelligence/reporting professionals to provide analysis, insight, and support at the working team level into Sales, Margin, Consumer, Operational trends for cross-functional partners. Coaches and develops the team to present at a high level with executive exposure.
Leads the business reporting function for CKE creating easy-to-use, flexible dashboards for all functions such as marketing, operations, finance, and the executive team.
Partners with Marketing and IT teams, helping to optimize key processes and data management techniques to ensure internal data hierarchy is most efficient, while optimizing overall spend to ensure business partners receive the analysis and recommendations they need in a timely fashion.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS/CORE COMPETENCIES
Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Economics, or a related field. Master’s degree highly preferred.
10 years of progressive responsibility in data analytics including leading modeling and analysis, preferably with consumer-oriented companies. Experience with franchised organizations preferred.
Business reporting experience with SQL, Python, Tableau, and Power BI.
Effective communicator with experience presenting to and communicating with all levels of the organization, including senior executive leadership. Proven ability to make data relatable through both written and verbal communications.
High degree of integrity and objectivity, especially as it relates to data analysis.
Demonstrated high level of intellectual curiosity, resourcefulness, and self-motivation.
Creative, critical, and analytical thinker with a high degree of business acumen.
Highly collaborative, service-oriented with a passion for helping companies win through insights.
PREFERENCES
Analytics experience in the Casual Dining, Fast Casual, Quick Service, and small-box retail environments.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Corporate Office environment, fast-paced, high volume of activity.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Sitting for extended periods of time, using telephone, typing, and/or operating a computer and/or mouse.
Ability to travel (approx. 10%).
Ability to provide support outside core hours for extended support during project implementations when required by the business.
