Management JOB SUMMARY Manages all aspects of Marriott’s sourcing and contracting needs for Technology agreements. Collaborates with internal stakeholders, including business, compliance, Finance and legal. Functions as the subject matter expert for sourcing and contracting. Manages and directs sourcing initiatives, including RFIs and RFPs. Negotiates contracts directly with vendors, drafts contract language, resolves conflicts and disputes, amends agreements, and terminates or renegotiates contracts as necessary. CORE WORK ACTIVITIES Contract Management
Draft, negotiate, evaluate, and execute a high volume of master agreements, contract amendments and transaction documents (e.g. SOWs and Services Schedules). Develop and lead complex negotiation strategies in compliance with Marriott best practices. Drive negotiating strategy to achieve cost savings and/or cost avoidance, as practical. Interpret contracts, identify risks, consult with internal subject matter experts on contract terms (e.g. Legal, Risk Management, Security, Privacy) and draft language to incorporate feedback into contracts. Advise leadership on the company’s and the vendor’s obligations within the overall agreement and report on the status of these obligations. Manage issues related to contracts and assist in interpreting contracts as needed. Facilitate timely resolution of contractual issues to minimize risk, including the impact of service disruptions on the organization. Create and communicate clear direction and strategy for contract negotiations. Sourcing Management
Manage sourcing initiatives in compliance with Marriott guidelines for competitive bids. Assist in defining and documenting business requirements, scoring and selecting vendors. Manage relationships and communication with internal stakeholders and vendors to ensure transparent and fair competitive bid process. Managing Compliance with Contractual Terms and Conditions
Own the integrity and competitiveness of the pricing schedules and mechanisms and ensure they are fit for purpose. Manage any re-pricing, ensuring that the optimal total cost has been achieved for Marriott. Verify that scope changes or extensions are commercially optimized using contractual mechanisms. Verify vendor proposals and requests against contractual terms and conditions (including pricing, proposed charging mechanisms, chargeability of items) as well as proposing, if necessary, the most appropriate solution for the business unit. Facilitate commercial optimization of the contract by making use of contractual levers to limit or reduce cost and manage risk. Function as an escalation point for any billing issues/disputes. Managing Projects and Policies
Interpret and advise on contract provisions and Marriott policies. Provide a structured process, rules of engagement and end-to-end support for contractual issue/dispute resolution. Resolve escalated issues in accordance with the governance escalation procedures. Manage the end-to-end lifecycle process from development through to execution, including obtaining the relevant stakeholder approvals, initiating and preparing of change requests, assessing and prioritizing impact, negotiating price and terms and conditions with the vendor, gaining final approval. CANDIDATE PROFILE Education and Experience
Required 7+ years’ contract management experience Experience in negotiating the following agreements: Marketing, Sales, PR, Partnership/Loyalty, Consulting and IT (Hardware, Software, ASP/SaaS, Cloud and Hosting) and Professional Services. Ability to analyze and draft commercial and legal terms to ensure Marriott achieves the optimal value and risk protections on transactions. Preferred Legal/Paralegal credentials preferred or Contract Management Certification International contract negotiations, specifically dealing in Asia Pacific countries especially China Experience in working with service providers and sourcing arrangements The salary range for this position is $117,300 to $137,900 annually. In addition to the annual salary, the position will be eligible to receive an annual bonus. Washington Applicants Only:
