Snow College is seeking a dynamic and experienced Program Director to develop and lead a new Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S.) degree in Respiratory Therapy. The Program Director will begin in January 2025 and will spend one year developing the curriculum and securing accreditation, with the program scheduled to launch in January 2026. Education Requirements:

Graduation from an accredited Respiratory Therapy program (required). Respiratory Therapy registration (required). Bachelor’s degree from a U.S. Department of Education-recognized accredited institution (required). Master’s degree (preferred). Training and Experience:

Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential and state license. Licensed, or willing to become licensed, in the state of Utah. A minimum of 4 years of experience as a Registered Respiratory Therapist, with at least 2 years in clinical respiratory care. At least 2 years of teaching experience, either as an appointed faculty member or clinical instructor in a CoARC-accredited program. Documented leadership and management experience. Completion of CoARC Key Personnel Training Program (required upon hire). Other relevant certifications (ACCS, NPS, AE-C, RPFT, etc.) helpful but not required. Responsibilities:

Develop a comprehensive respiratory therapy curriculum and seek approval from the Snow College Curriculum Committee. Collaborate with the Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC) to secure initial program accreditation. Oversee the hiring of a Clinical Placement Director and all other necessary faculty and staff. Serve as part of the teaching faculty. Manage, supervise, and evaluate other program faculty. Establish clinical placements for students by forming partnerships with local hospitals and care centers. Lead student recruitment and retention efforts for the Respiratory Therapy program. Ensure ongoing accreditation compliance and assessment of the program’s effectiveness. Supervise the purchase of initial lab equipment and manage the program’s ongoing equipment needs. Oversee the program budget, including administration of the ongoing Talent Ready Utah grant. Stay current with industry best practices in respiratory therapy and healthcare education. Maintain organized and confidential student records in compliance with Snow College’s policies. Counsel and assist students as needed, ensuring their academic and clinical success. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain high standards of care throughout the program.
