We are seeking a reliable and experienced Overnight Kitchen Manager to lead our kitchen operations during the early morning hours at a popular bakery and café in Bound Brook, NJ. Working from 2:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., the Kitchen Manager will oversee the baking and preparation of high-quality pastries and breads, ensure a clean and organized kitchen, and manage a small team to meet daily production goals. This role is ideal for a culinary professional with baking experience who is comfortable working overnight and thrives in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Manage overnight kitchen operations, including baking, prepping, and quality control, to ensure all products meet high standards.
- Supervise, train, and schedule overnight staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
- Oversee food preparation and baking processes, including mixing, proofing, and baking, to ensure freshness and consistency.
- Maintain inventory and order supplies to meet daily production demands while controlling waste and costs.
- Ensure adherence to health, safety, and sanitation regulations, keeping the kitchen clean and organized.
- Communicate with the day shift team to ensure smooth hand-offs and meet business needs.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a baking or pastry role, with a strong understanding of baking techniques and production.
