SCHEDULE:

40 hours, Monday – Friday, 12:00 – 8:30 PM, will require schedule flexibility to meet the operational needs of the shift and shelter including overnights and weekends as needed. This position is essential in the event of an emergency.

Pay:

$71,676.80 annually DOE

LOCATION:

363 Albany Street – Boston, MA; this position works 100% on site.

SUMMARY OF THE POSITION:

The Sr. Supervisor, Women’s Inn provides leadership and guidance to all shifts and operations service delivery at Emergency Shelter. The Sr. Supervisor oversees the day-to-day operations of the Women’s Inn Emergency Shelter. This is a highly responsible position, demanding great flexibility and decision-making skills; strong stewardship of the relationship with the staff, security and leadership; staff hiring, training and retention; staff management and supervision. The position will have three (3) fundamental goals:

Create a safe environment for staff and guests utilizing and reinforcing the principles of Trauma-Informed Care in all aspects of the shelters policies, procedures and interactions.

Working closely with the Director, Women’s Inn and the Director of Coordinated Housing Solutions, support the evolution of the PSI shelters to provide more proactive engagement with shelter guests to motivate movement toward housing.

Elevate the performance of approximately 30 Emergency Shelter staff through implementing strong management and supervision tools for direct care staff.

EDUCATION/TRAINING:

REQUIRED:

Bachelor’s Degree in a Human Services related field or equivalent years of combined education, experience and/or training

Strong computer and math skills, including familiarity with MS Word, Excel and ability to learn and successfully use MIS & HMIS programs

Training and experience in Trauma-Informed Care

KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE:

REQUIRED:

Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a social service setting

Minimum of two (2) years’ supervisory experience in a social services setting

Minimum of two (2) years’ experience delivering services to a challenged population often struggling with addiction and untreated or under-treated mental health concerns

PREFERRED:

Four (4) years or more of prior supervisory experience

Successful experience leading working unit of similar scope and size through change

Working knowledge of local resources for men experiencing homelessness/extreme poverty

Working knowledge of Housing First

Working knowledge of local substance abuse and mental health resources

Experience complying with disability law in a place of public accommodation

Bilingual, with a preference for English/Spanish
