The Opportunity: Evaluates business opportunities to define and optimize the product portfolio through analysis and understanding of targeted markets, market trends, new technology, customer business issues and the competitive environment. Applies broad knowledge of company product capabilities and service offerings with in-depth analysis of market position to create and expand the portfolio of products and solution alternatives. Works closely with product development to create products and validates early product definitions with customers. Uses technical expertise and extensive industry experience to formulate product strategies and identify new product opportunities. Responsible for developing project plans designed to address customer needs and/or expand market share.
As the Sr. Product Manager, you will: Participate in consumer research projects related to product usage and comparative performance. Meet with key customers to identify needs of product line for US market. Lead planning and execution of product exhibits and demos for launch and press events. Summarize reports and analyze to identify relative strengths and weaknesses and report to NJ management as well as HQ. Involvement with quarterly product road map committees to plan future state of product.
Additional Duties: Oversee the product's life cycle and work with multi-functional teams (sales, brand marketing, channel marketing, business managers, and HQ marketing) to coordinate commercial launch. Research the market and competitors, and analyze user feedback to create a product vision and roadmap. Align the product with business goals, and work with sales and marketing to ensure the product's success. Use analytical skills to understand and analyze data, measure the product's success, and make informed decisions. Track the product's performance and gather customer feedback to make improvements. Establish pricing, promotion and commercial positioning strategies based on market insights, competitor analysis, and business objectives. Provide insight to stakeholders on the product and market, and communicate progress with senior stakeholders. Understand customer needs and translate them into technical requirements for the HQ team. Drive product claim strategy for product features, innovations, and technology. Support creative development of new product assets, images, copy and testing working with marketing and testing team members. Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree is required and 10 years experience in high-tech, competitive intelligence, product management, strategic marketing, or strategy/management consulting required. Experience with delivering complex websites or consumer electronics products. Mobile Application and/or start-up experience a plus. Advanced in MS Office Applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Additional Qualifications: Minimum 5 years' experience in Product Management/Marketing, Merchandising, Innovation Management, or Brand Management including experience in durable goods or home appliances. Experience in market research, competitive analysis, and defining product roadmaps.
