HOW THE INTELLIGENCE ANALYST WILL MAKE AN IMPACT: Collects and analyzes information attained from open source resources in addition to: Federal, State, and local law enforcement agencies, the intelligence community, foreign governments, financial institutions, and technology companies. Identifies intelligence sources to support law enforcement missions and performs assessments to determine pattern of life attributes and the identity of threat actors. Has knowledge of forensic analysis of digital information and uses forensically sound procedures to assist in threat investigations using the internet and digital devices as a primary or peripheral means. Is familiar with forensic tools and techniques used to recover and evaluate metadata from various sources, and works in conjunction with analysts to detect steganography, and recovers deleted, fragmented or corrupted data from digital media of all types. Observes proper evidence custody and control procedures (chain of custody), documents procedures and findings in a manner suitable for inclusion in criminal investigations and courtroom presentation, and prepares comprehensive written notes and reports. Utilizes common cyber intelligence tools and software to search and collect publicly available information from the internet and dark web for threats against government personnel, facilities and operations. Prepares formal assessments and briefs to various levels of government leadership in a manner that is easy to understand and demonstrates logical, supportable conclusions and relationships. Works closely with government liaisons to leverage agency resources, strengthen communication and collaboration, and capture best practices and lessons learned. Supports the protection mission by coordinating closely with law enforcement personnel and providing proactive analysis for all missions, including domestic and international travel. Prepares and conducts routine training for the government's personnel covering various aspects of the criminal intelligence process and its ability to enhance contributions to the overall policing and protection mission. Keeps abreast of emerging technologies and professional developments to remain current in the field and for application to work assignments.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED: Education : Bachelor's Degree Required Experience:
4+ years of experience in intelligence operations in support of a law enforcement mission; all source analysis; understanding/knowledge of darknet ecosystems; experience using cyber tools/techniques to gather intelligence in support of threat/criminal investigations; coordinating with state/federal law enforcement and intelligence agencies. Required Technical Skills : Experience with Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Publisher; experience with a variety of OSINT research tools. Security Clearance Level : Active Top Secret with SCI Eligibility Required Skills and Abilities:
Excellent oral and written communication skills; attention to detail; knowledge and skill to adapt and apply various analytical and quantitative techniques and to document and justify recommendations; ability to establish and maintain relationships with key internal and external individuals/groups; gather, analyze, and present facts; interpret and apply rules, regulations and procedures. Preferred Skills:
Self-motivated and detail oriented. Location : On Customer Site, Washington DC. Limited telework.
