Role Overview:
The Site Quality Leader is responsible for executing and evolving the Site Quality Strategy to align with Flight Deck, managing production customer relationships, and complying with all customer, regulatory, and compliance requirements. The role is subject to operating policy objectives. There is moderate autonomy within the role. High levels of operational judgment effective cross functional coordination are required to achieve the expected outcomes for our customers and our business.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Owns the Quality relationship with the customer at a senior level, including relationships with the largest Tier 0 airframe customers in the world.
Leadership responsibility for the development, implementation, and execution of the site Quality Strategy, aligned to the Power P&L level strategic objectives.
Responsible for ensuring that strategic priorities align to and support critical customer improvement needs, including ownership of customer scorecard performance outcomes.
Accountable for relevant regulatory airworthiness approvals for the Vandalia site.
Ownership includes both quality assurance and quality control, including conformance in manufacturing, incoming goods control, product inspection, witness points, etc.
Manages a small to medium team of senior quality professionals, technicians, and inspectors.
Interprets internal and external business challenges and recommends best practices to improve products, processes or services.
Uses high level of judgment to make decisions and handle complex tasks or problems in areas of operational, product management, manufacturing, technology or engineering.
May lead functional teams or projects with minimal resource requirements, risk, and/or complexity.
Travel up to 25%.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 9 years of experience in Manufacturing Operations).
Minimum of 5 years of experience in Manufacturing Operations.
Minimum of 5 years of experience leading people.
This role requires use of technical data subject to U.S. Government contract restrictions; this posting is only for U.S. Citizens.
Preferred Characteristics:
5+ years of experience in Manufacturing Quality, preferably within the Aerospace/Aviation industry or within a regulated industry.
Strong oral and written communication skills and demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.
Experience and ability to communicate complex issues simply and concisely, at the most senior level.
Proven track record of presenting and influencing at the Sr. Leadership level.
Ability to provide clear leadership in unclear situations, with strong problem-solving techniques.
Experience working with complex, matrixed organizations and the ability to influence horizontally and vertically.
Familiarity and confidence working on high-profile, time-sensitive assignments.
This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. If applicable, final offers will be contingent on ability to obtain authorization for access to U.S. export-controlled information from the U.S. Government.
