Since 2003, The Dog Scoop has pioneered the Open Pack doggy daycare concept. A “Best of Boston” pick, we are known as a place where dogs can play, socialize, and relax. In this position, you will help dogs be calm, happy, and healthy while working with a dedicated team with the same goals!
The position:
Overnight Dog Daycare Associate
- Overnight shifts may run from 3pm/5pm to 7am.
- We prefer a candidate with some weekend and holiday availability.
- Staff can work 24 to 40 hours weekly.
Please note that you will have time to rest and attend to personal responsibilities if you work overnights.
Optional earning opportunities
- Weekday Daytime shifts normally run 7am to 2pm/3pm. We prefer candidates with consistent daytime availability.
- Weekend Daytime shifts normally run 9am to 5pm.
- Evening shifts normally run 11am to 7pm.
*There is some measure of flexibility for most of our shifts.
Compensation:
$18 - $20 / hour (positions start at $18 per hour, with a compensation increase to $20 per hour at 90 days)
$1700 - $3200 / month

- Salary is available for motivated employees who are performing at a high level
- Free daycare services and boarding for your dog
- Flexible schedules (we are open 365 days per year, and you are expected to work some of the holidays and weekends)
- Part-time and full-time staff will have the option of additional work opportunities.
The responsibilities:
- Create a safe and positive environment for our client's dogs (the Open Pack concept that we embrace encourages monitored group play).
- Ensuring the daycare area remains clean by removing pet waste and general environmental cleaning.
- Work independently but contribute to the team effort as a team player.
- Practice time management to ensure all assigned tasks (cleaning, feeding, etc.) are completed on schedule.
- Be prepared to work indoors and in our outdoor spaces.
The ideal candidate:
- The candidate should have an innate desire to care for animals while ensuring their safety. We are looking for an honest, patient, and enthusiastic candidate who can provide our clients' dogs with the highest possible care.
- Associates need to be alert, calm, and confident.
- Previous professional or volunteer experience with animals is preferred, but a positive attitude and a desire to learn are just as important. This is a learning environment.
