Job Description
POSITION PURPOSE:
To provide the best quality of service and a high standard of cleanliness. The appearance and cleanliness of the hotel is the responsibility of everyone and cooperation is essential to achieve the objective of the hotel in accordance with Hotel, Corporate and local standards. Clean and maintain all corridors, vending areas, elevators and landings and service areas on guest room floors, ensuring resort's standards of cleanliness. Provide linen supplies for Room Attendants and stock floor closets. Provide linen supplies for Room Attendants and stock floor closets. Deliver and retrieve items requested by guests and Inspector. The House Attendant must deliver prompt and courteous service to guests, ensuring all guest experiences are distinctively supreme. This position must adhere to all safety procedures, and follow all appropriate policies and procedures while constantly striving to improve all standards of operation. Completes service orders by delivering requested items to Guest Rooms in a timely manner with the highest level of courtesy, with an emphasis on VIP arrivals.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Assists the Guest Room Attendants, Inspectors, and management with delivering items requested for incoming arrivals, special attention guests, high expectation guests
Fully stocks kitchens for incoming VIP 4 following the traces report and above arrivals ensuring all dishes are clean and free of fingerprints or smudges
Delivers requested items to guest rooms in a timely manner with the highest level of courtesy in accordance with the Company standards.
Places robes, blankets, and magazines on each floor in the elevator landings as needed
Retrieves items from guest rooms or service areas to place back in their proper storage location. As needed or by request
Assists guests with utilizing equipment in the room when necessary
Maintains storage lockers by organizing, sweeping, mopping, and discarding any garbage as needed
Reports if any items are low on inventory
Utilizes safety equipment as required
Reports completion of assigned service orders via HotSOS mobile
Disposes of Boxes or bulky trash in the trash loading dock
Maintains quality of guest amenities and ensures all technological devices are in working condition
Monitors and maintains cleanliness, sanitation and organization of assigned work areas.
Cleans designated areas with proper chemicals, tools and equipment:
A. Guest room floor corridors
B. Floor closets
Service corridors
Elevators, tracks and landings
Guest laundry room
Guest vending areas/Ice Machine Room
Stairwells
Works in a safe manner and abides by Occupational Health & Safety legislation and hotel policies in regards to accident and incident reporting procedures
Abides by the policies and procedures as set out in the Associate Handbook and any other applicable Company Policies
Wears the appropriate uniform as supplied by the hotel and appropriate footwear
Attends all scheduled shifts including shift work and weekend work in accordance with the schedules
Greets guest in a friendly and courteous manner during all interactions
Handles all guest interactions with the highest level of hospitality and professionalism
Responsible for reporting any maintenance required in the hotel including guest corridors
Ensures that all storage areas are functional, well maintained, clean and have a professional appearance
Dusts tables, lighting fixtures, house phones and wall décor with damp rags and appropriate cleaning chemicals.
Polishes and wipes all ice machines, ensuring ice machines are in working order.
Mops and sweeps ice machine rooms removing any debris
Ensures stairwells are free of debris and spills by mopping and sweeping
Throws soiled linen and trash down their respective chutes
Removes linen and trash for associate elevator landings
Mops and sweeps all service areas (Storage Lockers, Elevator Landing, Chute Rooms, and Linen Lockers)
Cleans Bio-Hazardous spills while adhering to Company, state, and Federal standards.
Tidies up and organizes Linen Lockers and Storage Lockers reporting any missing items as needed
Placing items in Elevator Landing into proper storage locations
Conducts inventories
Attends daily pre-shift meetings
Maintains high-quality functionality and aesthetic to all assigned work tools (i.e. Changing Vacuum Bags regularly, Keys, iPods, Carts), and reports any damage or discrepancies
Stocks runner lockers
Liaise with the Coordinators/supervisor about any requests, urgent messages or matters
Ensures all rubbish is collected regularly and to be taken down to the loading dock at the end of the day
Ensures that all service areas are clean at the end of the shift
Removes the bottles and papers from the recycling crate and takes to the loading dock
Ensures guest amenities and cages are re-stocked daily and advises shift leaders if anything is to be ordered
Ensures that lost property is returned to the Housekeeping department as soon as possible and appropriate forms are completed
Fully understands all House Attendant procedures and daily duties checklist
Performs other duties/tasks and projects as assigned
Reviews assigned area and completes general removal of any trash or debris on floors
Maintains complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies/service procedures/standards.
Anticipates guests’ needs, responds promptly and acknowledges all guests, however busy and at whatever time of day
Maintain positive guest relations at all times.
Be familiar with all resort services/features and local attractions/activities to respond to guest inquiries accurately
Resolves guest complaints, ensuring guest satisfaction
Provides timely delivery of any items requested by guests
Retrieves items from guest rooms and returns to proper storage areas
Reports any damages or maintenance problems to management
Turns over any lost and found items to the Lost and Found Department
Ensures security of guest room access and resort property
Able to work under pressure at a rapid pace
Must vacuum and clean guest corridors daily
Picks up rollaway from the guest room
Reject Linen daily
Must be able to move furniture
Performs other related duties as assigned
QUALIFICATION STANDARDS:
EDUCATION
High School graduate or equivalent preferred
EXPERIENCE
Previous janitorial experience preferred. Knowledge of floor buffer, extractor operation. Must be able to work varied shifts, to include weekends and holidays.
