WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING (ESSENTIAL DUTIES)…
We are currently seeking a motivated, caring, and empathetic Residential Counselor to join our team. This position supports the 14 adults residing in our residential group home in Middletown. The schedule is Monday through Friday from Midnight to 7 am.
- Includes cooking, cleaning, laundry, and organizational activities.
- Assist clients with involvement in community connections and activities to expand social networks and community integration.
- Work with clients on their identified goals as outlined in their recovery plans.
- Work with families and identified supports that can be part of the client’s recovery plan.
- Conduct monthly resident groups that focus on health promotion and skill development in various life domains.
- Support and assist clients with problem solving around daily integration into the community such as transportation to appointments, grocery shopping and other scheduled events.
WHAT WE EXPECT OF YOU…
- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to professionally communicate verbally and in writing with a variety of individuals.
- Caring and empathetic, with the desire to help others in need.
- Self-motivated and independent, with the ability to prioritize work to meet deadlines.
- Valid Driver’s License with reliable transportation.
- 1 or more years of experience working in the human services field preferred.
