SUMMARY:

This position is the heart of the treatment center. This position is vital to the overall care of the residents of the treatment center. The Behavioral Health Technician will act as the lifeline for those in treatment by offering support, encouragement, and input into the resident’s treatment. The Behavioral Health Tech – Overnight will set the stage for the next day’s programming and will ensure the facility remains clean and sanitized. The Behavioral Health Technician will be part of maintaining the organization's culture. ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Provide emotional and moral support to all residents. Ensure the overall well-being and safety of our residents through careful interaction and communication.
  • Monitor resident activities, programming, and house rules by following the assigned schedule and keeping residents on task.
  • Assist residents in their process of stabilization and recovery by practicing clear and consistent boundaries.
  • Complete 1 – 2-hour checks on clients, documenting in EMR.
  • Prepare materials and other supplies for programming the following day.
  • Clean and sanitize the entire facility – including cleaning and sweeping floors, cleaning bathrooms, washing windows, laundry, prepping bedrooms, washing dishes, cleaning kitchen.
  • Note any needed repairs throughout the building and communicate appropriately.
  • Organize areas of the facility to maintain a professional atmosphere, including intake materials.
  • Prepare food for the following day. Clean out fridge, throwing out any food items over three days old.
  • Prep menus weekly.
  • Provide transportation.
  • Document completed duties ensuring responsible completion.
  • Engage in ongoing agency training and staff meetings.
  • Follow agency protocols and policies.
  • Follow appropriate Medication Administration.
  • Other duties as assigned by Leadership.


Requirements:

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • Preferred: Working on or completed associate or bachelor's degree in human services, Psychology, Social Work, or related field.
  • Understanding of boundaries and confidentiality.
  • Excellent communication skills – verbal and written.
  • Computer proficiency.
  • Highly organized, ability to follow system.
  • Ability to tolerate physical exertion including standing on your feet and walking for up to 6 – 8 hours at a time. Must be able to bend, squat and lift items overhead. Must be able to kneel.
  • Must be able to navigate stairs.
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 35 pounds.
  • Ability to multi-task and meet multiple demands at any given time.
