Job Description
We are seeking an Overnight Therapeutic Community Counselor to join our team. Therapeutic Community Counselors are creative, flexible, and energized by our “whatever it takes” approach. You will work closely with our residential and overnight treatment team to provide supportive learning and leisure opportunities to our neurodiverse students in the early mornings and late evenings. The position involves supporting students in activities of daily living, providing supervision during the awake overnight shift, and implementing our therapeutic frameworks. At its core, this role is about driving outcomes and supporting young people in developing the skills and tools they need to transition into adulthood.
Responsibilities include:
- Maintain a safe and therapeutic learning environment and provide individualized support to students based on their learning and treatment needs.
- Support students with daily stressors using therapeutic frameworks such as CPI, PBIS, and the ARC Framework of Trauma-Informed Care.
- Engage with students during all daily activities, and support them in accessing residential programming—make learning fun and joyful. Help build and strengthen students’ relationships with skill building and academic success.
- Support morning and bedtime routines for residential students.
- Provide one-on-one support to students to encourage their engagement in ADLs.
- With support, become familiar with residential students’ treatment goals and crisis plans.
- Complete program communication and documentation requirements, including daily student progress summaries and incident reports.
- Participate in crisis intervention as needed.
- Maintain a therapeutic residential environment by ensuring the highest standards of health and safety, and implementing school-wide therapeutic frameworks.
- Believe in the potential of every person to build a life of joy and purpose, and help students develop the skills to achieve this.

Competencies & Skills:
- Proficiency in understanding and implementing CPI, ARC, and PBIS models of treatment.
- Consistent professionalism and the ability to develop and maintain safe and effective student/staff relationships.
- A desire to give and receive feedback to support personal and professional growth.
- Excellent time management and attendance record.
- Ability to work collaboratively on a team.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Previous experience in residential programming preferred, but not required.
- Some holiday shifts required.
- Background check, drug, and alcohol testing will be performed prior to the start of employment.
Licensure, Degree, and Certification Required:
- High School diploma required. B.A. or B.S. in Special Education, Social Work, Education, Psychology, or related field preferred.
- A valid driver’s license preferred.
- CPR and First Aid certification (required; training offered upon hire).
- Some holiday shifts required.
- Background check, drug, and alcohol testing will be performed prior to start.
