Salary: $19.90 to $25.51 per hour

Community Youth Services is seeking dedicated Associate Counselors for the Haven House program, offering a supportive role for youth ages 12–17. This dynamic position involves filling in for Residential Counselors, ensuring a safe environment, and aiding in the personal development of at-risk youth.  Currently seeking individuals interested in overnight shifts but all are welcomed to apply.

  • Competitive Pay: $19.90 to $25.51 per hour

Qualifications:

  • At least 21 years old.
  • Two years of education or experience in social sciences or related fields.
  • Valid TB test results or the ability to obtain them within 30 days of employment.

Responsibilities:

  • Create a nurturing environment to minimize crisis behavior.
  • Offer guidance and counseling to maintain safe behavior.
  • Plan and prepare nutritious meals.
  • Coordinate daily activities and provide structured support.
  • Conduct intake assessments and behavioral observations.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
  • Act as a crisis liaison and provide community resource information.

Agency Qualifications:

  1. Successfully clear a thorough background check with no history of causing harm, particularly to children or vulnerable adults.
  2. Maintain a clean criminal record, demonstrating professional and personal integrity.
  3. Hold a valid Washington State Driver's License with at least five years of driving experience and a good driving record for the past three years.
  4. Provide proof of auto insurance with coverage of $100,000 or more.
  5. Show cultural sensitivity and the ability to respond to the diverse needs of the organization’s community.
  6. Acquire CPR/1st Aid/Bloodborne Pathogen certification within 30 days of employment (required before starting some positions).
  7. Possess strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
