As the Executive Director of Growth for our Commerce practice, you will be responsible for spearheading growth with a primary focus on acquiring net new clients. You’ll serve as the key leader in defining commerce positioning, identifying unmet market needs, and navigating a competitive landscape to build a robust pipeline of business opportunities. You’ll collaborate closely with cross-functional leaders across the agency to drive profitable growth, while also championing CourtAvenue’s vision as a transformative force in the digital space.
Responsibilities
Lead Commerce Growth Strategy : Define and implement the growth strategy for the Commerce practice, revisiting quarterly to refine as needed. Partner with leadership to make investment requests, define KPIs, and track progress. New Business Development : Drive net new client acquisition through proactive business development, from lead generation through to pitching, contract negotiation, and onboarding. Commerce Positioning : Understand commerce market needs and competitor dynamics to shape positioning. Develop go-to-market (GTM) strategies to differentiate CourtAvenue’s offerings. Financial Accountability : Oversee the business development P&L, working closely with Finance and Operations to ensure healthy and profitable growth within the practice. Partnerships & Alliances : Identify and cultivate strategic alliances with MarTech platforms, emerging technologies, and industry leaders to drive co-marketing efforts and mutual sales leads. Sales Operations : Establish and optimize sales operations, sales reporting frameworks, and tracking mechanisms to manage and forecast business development pipeline. Collaborative Leadership : Work closely with senior leadership to define team structures, make staffing recommendations, and contribute to a healthy, productive team culture. Qualifications
15+ years sales experience 3+ years within a digital agency or consultancy sales environment required Proven track record in business development and sales, particularly in the Commerce space. Strong strategic thinking and leadership capabilities, with a focus on driving growth through innovation and disruption. Deep understanding of market trends, consumer insights, and competitive landscapes in Commerce and digital ecosystems. Hands-on leader with the ability to inspire and unite teams around a common vision. Experience managing P&L and driving profitable growth in a high-growth environment. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial culture while maintaining focus on long-term goals. Strong communication and collaboration skills; able to engage with clients, agency leadership, and cross-functional teams to drive success. Compensation
The compensation package includes a base salary and commission, with commission rates structured based on net new revenue generated. You will earn commissions on business development activities within the Commerce market. Location
