Job Description
Job Summary
Install overhead commercial doors (sectional, coiling), specialty doors and dock equipment, operable walls, side folding security gates, motors, sensors and other associated equipment. Provide service to all installed products.
Duties and Responsibilities
Perform commercial installation/service on a wide range of products.
Document any issues, alteration and/or modifications necessary at the job site and communicate with the lead installer, supervisor and/or job site supervisor to determine next steps.
Perform related minor work in framing/construction modifications as directed/approved by your supervisor and job site supervisor.
Troubleshoot issues and complete punch list items to complete assigned jobs.
Assist in unloading of trucks when requested/assigned.
Complete job site checks as needed/directed by supervisor.
Follow all company safety policies and procedures and use proper personal protective equipment when necessary.
Attend required training safety meetings and participate in continuing education opportunities as available.
Ensure the truck is fueled, serviced and ready for operation prior to the beginning of the work day. Report any service issues to your supervisor.
Maintain appropriate parts inventory on your vehicle to ensure that items are available for installation/service work.
Assist with any special projects and/or additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications/Educational Experience
- Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- One to two years commercial install/service experience in sectional/coiling garage doors, dock equipment and/or operable walls, preferred.
- Possess a valid driver’s license and maintain a driving record that allows for coverage under the company insurance plan.
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment and random drug testing as required/requested.
- Mechanical aptitude; knowledge and skilled in using various hand and power tools.
- Welding experience preferred; certification a plus.
- Basic knowledge of electrical wiring.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees and the general public.
- Coachable with a strong attention to detail.
- A professional demeanor and punctuality.
Physical Demands
- Able to work from ladders and/or scissor lifts at varying heights.
- Must be able to lift up to 65 pounds.
- Perform manual labor in an outside environment, exposed to heat, sun, rain and other adverse weather conditions.
- Work out of town/overnight approximately 50% of the time.
