JOB Summary:
Program Director/Manager to provide support for the Respiratory Care Program. May also provide didactic instruction and supervision of clinical course content. This is a 9.5M position.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES: Provides ongoing review and analysis of all program activities, ensuring compliance with CoARC standards and SACSCOC in collaboration with the Associate Vice President of division and the Department Chair of Allied Health Programs. Oversees the communication among all Respiratory Care Program adjuncts and tutors. Coordinates meetings with hospital administration. Assists with clinical visits to University Hospitals-based sites. Primary contact for Respiratory Care students. Supports open labs for student success. Assists Department Chair, Health Navigator, Associate Vice President of Division. Assists the Department Chair and Associate Vice President Health, Wellness, and Human Services with budget planning. Considers the general and special needs of the students, assists them in meeting their problems, and when necessary, seeks additional help from other college services. Informs students of educational and occupational opportunities. Observes schedule as approved by the department chair and appropriate administrator. Cooperates with the department chairperson, department members, and the appropriate administrators in the development of the curriculum, in the preparation and update of course syllabi, course outlines, and the selection of textbooks. Recommends library books and other instructional materials. Assists in the organization and meetings of advisory committees where applicable. Consults with department chair on matters pertaining to departmental problems; observes proper channels of communications. When needed, maintains an inventory of assigned equipment and supplies. Submits midterm and final grade reports, deficiency notices, attendance records, and any other reports pertaining to the assigned course. Participates in the formation of policies and regulations and assists in enforcing the regulations. Informs department chairperson in writing of any pending problem that might have a detrimental effect on the college. Participates in faculty and professional organizations. Attends scheduled monthly departmental/program meetings when there is no conflict with a professional responsibility. Distributes to all students each term a course outline which covers the class requirements, grading procedure, attendance requirements, and objectives the instructor feels are appropriate. Fosters diversity, equity and inclusion with colleagues and students. Maintains confidentiality and security of sensitive information. Pursues continuous improvement in the areas of subject matter expertise; teaching and learning; the use of educational technology; diversity, equity, and inclusion; and other areas related to the strategic goals of the college. Facilitates the learning process by designing and implementing inclusive instructional activities that are appropriate and meaningful and that maximize equitable student outcomes. Demonstrated practice of fostering diversity, equity and inclusion in the classroom and among your team, as well as experience working in a diverse environment. Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position is responsible for supervision of a clinical coordinator, faculty, students, and staff.
