ABOUT TIMES2 ACADEMY:
TIMES2 Academy is a district-affiliated, K-12 public charter school in Providence, RI. Our mission is to develop intellectually curious young people who are selfless contributors to their communities and who aspire to be ethical and compassionate leaders. Through a rigorous and innovative academic program in math, science, and technology, in combination with the liberal arts, we prepare our diverse student population with the experiences, skills, and values for purposeful contributions in the higher education and STEM-related fields.
POSITION OVERVIEW:
Under the direction of the Executive Director, the Director of Operations plays a key role in all aspects of the non-academic operations of TIMES2 Academy. This position is responsible for ensuring that the day-to-day functions of the school operate efficiently and effectively and contribute to a positive environment for teaching and learning. These core operational functions include facilities management, capital improvements, custodial services, information technology infrastructure, transportation, food service, and traffic control. The Director of Operations serves on the school leadership team with supervisory responsibility of operations staff.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Work collaboratively with the school leadership team (Chief Academic Officer and Director of Finance) to create a high-performing system of operations that results in a high-quality teaching and learning environment.
Manage the school facilities to ensure that the school campus is safe, clean, and accessible.
Assist in the development and management of the yearly Capital Asset Plan (CAP) which outlines all facilities projects. Including the development of the CAP budget in coordination with the Director of Finance.
Supervise the custodial staff of 4 custodians to ensure the campus is maintained and cleaned daily.
Maintain and manage a responsive ticket system to receive and track facilities requests from faculty and staff.
Supervise the school technology staff to ensure that all school technology is maintained and that the school’s information technology and network infrastructure is secure.
Responsible for ensuring that the school campus is secure and that all security systems operate properly.
Manage traffic control during morning student drop-off and afternoon dismissal to ensure efficient traffic flow.
Maintenance of the school’s transportation fleet (Vans).
Conduct performance evaluations of staff under direct supervision.
Perform other operational duties as assigned by the Executive Director.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS:
Strong project management skills. Facilities management; IT management.
Procurement, including preparing and evaluating RFPs, and recommending vendor selection.
Ability to negotiate and maintain productive relationships with outside vendors.
The ability to consistently meet deadlines and complete tasks in a timely manner.
Must have a positive and collaborative attitude and supportive working relationship with staff and students.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s Degree (BA) concentration in Business Administration, Project Management, or another relevant field.
3-5 years of professional experience, preferably in project management, operations leadership, administration.
