Job Description
The Global Operations and Sourcing (GOS) lead is responsible for owning supplier relationships, executing sourcing strategy, developing, and managing supplier relationship management plans, creating and driving supplier savings roadmap, understanding and managing risk impacting supply nodes while partnering with other procurement areas to understand strategy and with business partners to ensure requirements are understood and effectively managed. The leader must have excellent communication and relationship skills.
Key Roles & Responsibilities:
Scope will include external supply of small molecule drug substance (DS) and drug product (DP) modality, Biologics DS and DP modality, Vaccines DS and DP modality and supports internal manufacturing network across all modalities.
Serves as a member of the Direct Materials Leadership Team (DMLT) and acts as the link for Direct Materials Operations & Capital (DMOC) to our Manufacturing Division and Operational Units (OpUs) as it relates to in-line product management, supplier management, risk management and savings identification.
Works closely with DMLT including Advanced Strategy and Procurement (AS&P) and OpUs to understand upstream strategy and business requirements impacting sourcing environment.
Strategic Supplier Management: Acts as the interface between Manufacturing and suppliers for in-line products and leads Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) for critical suppliers. Leads the process for defining savings pipeline and value opportunities while working with senior leaders to understand LROP and product requirements to develop sustainable and fit for purpose source plans across internal and external nodes.
Position is senior leader and responsible for the delivery and accurate understanding of in-line business requirements and DMOC strategy/capabilities to drive effective downstream execution.
People & Talent: Leads the process of hiring, training, motivating, and directing employees to optimize workplace productivity and promote professional growth. Works with senior leadership team on succession planning and employee development programs. Compels a more diverse and inclusive workforce for our employees by creating an environment of belonging, engagement, equity, and empowerment.
Scope: Responsible for all in-line product execution, risk management and escalation. Emphasis on matrix management across DMOC and serving as primary Global Supplier Management Group (GSMG) point of contact for in-line programs. Manage team of ~34 employees with 6 direct reports.
Oversees our Manufacturing Division's analytical labs managed via external manufacturing nodes.

Leadership
- As a key operational and functional leader, accountable for execution of robust sourcing strategies that link to core business deliverables and partner with Advanced Strategy & Procurement (AS&P).
Procurement Leadership
- Provide the leadership and governance for the function building a high performance engagement model with the business.
Organizational Development
- Build a core team of high-quality procurement professionals who have direct accountability for strategy execution, risk management, sustainability support for in-line programs.
Category Scope
- Direct responsibility for supplier relationships around the world for globally-managed materials, and is worldwide point of contact for global relationships with numerous key suppliers, which are complex and difficult to manage.
Strategy Execution/Implementation
– Drive breakthrough strategy execution while continuing to understand changing business requirements to evolve categories. Drive innovation.

- Adopt high quality change practices with customers and stakeholders, building and implementing an organization which is sustainable.

Education:
Bachelor degree in a Business, Engineering, Science or Procurement, or Manufacturing-related degree.
Required Experience and Skills:
5 - 7 years of experience working with senior/executive Leaders.
Experience in large-scale organizational change initiatives.
Experience in large-scale organizational communication management and report coordination.
Experience in strategy development, strategic planning, strategy implementation.
Minimum of 15 years’ experience in Sourcing, Procurement, Supplier Management or related operations supporting a manufacturing environment, preferable in pharmaceutical or consumer goods industries.
Solid policy, process & procedure leadership experience.
Preferred Experience and Skills:
Previous experience and understanding of biotech industry and associated best practices in manufacturing, supply chain management, and supplier/category management.
Knowledge of supply chain technologies, performance management & reporting and operations management best practices.
Advanced capabilities in Sourcing & Supplier Strategies, Sourcing Methodology, Cost Optimization, Supplier Relationship Management, Negotiation Skills, Financial/Legal Aspects with Procurement, Supplier Diversity, and Supplier Risk Management.
Category sourcing expertise in both indirect & direct materials and supplier diversity management.
Sigma Green, Executive Belt – preferred; Black Belt – highly preferred.
