The Harbor Light Director is responsible for the oversight of the Men’s Relapse Prevention and Sober Living Program, Veteran’s Clinical Treatment GPD program. All programs are physically located at the Harbor Light Center. The Director is responsible for the oversight of programming and facility operations, ensuring cohesion and support for all residents, staff, interns, and volunteers. This position is responsible for oversight of administrative functions such as hiring, budget management, human resources, and facility management. Duties and Responsibilities: Program:
Ensure program is developed to meet all identified objectives and outcomes; ensure compliance of services in a recovery, re-entry, or GPD program in adherence to state licensing, contracts, VA regulations, and agency policy. Client:
Provide leadership in the care and wellbeing of clients. Personnel:
Facilitate the growth of program staff and provide quality human resources in hiring, termination, and professional performance. Inter-agency collaboration:
Effectively work with multi-system community partners, including hospitals, Department of Corrections, mental health providers, Veterans service providers, and detox centers. Professionalism:
Demonstrate high professional leadership and ethical standards, and maintain an empathetic, respectful, and motivational approach. Required Education, Skills, and Qualifications: Heart and passion for The Salvation Army’s mission. MBA, MSW, masters counseling, masters in non-profit management or similar degree required. BS in a Business or Management field with at least 6 years’ experience in program management may be accepted in lieu of a master’s degree. 2 years post-graduate professional social service experience required. Minimum 1 year experience fiscal management of budgets greater than $400,000 required. Minimum 3 years supervisory experience required. Minimum 2 years’ experience in program management mentor oversight required. Demonstrated experience in hiring, supervising, training, motivating, and evaluating staff required. At least three years’ professional experience with at least one of the following populations: homeless, formerly incarcerated individuals, and veterans populations required. Counseling Licensed Addictions Counselor (LAC), LCSW, LPC preferred. Experience in non-profit setting preferred. Knowledge of substance abuse and co-occurring disorders (COD) with experience in screening, assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of co-occurring disorders preferred. Experience with contracts and grant management preferred. Must have and be able to model crisis intervention and de-escalation skills. Ability to prepare grant proposals, understand grant requirements and maintain accurate reporting to VA and other eligible funding requirements preferred. Physical Requirements: Ability to maneuver and remain in a stationary position. Ability to bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or continuous basis. Ability to grasp, push, pull, and reach overhead. Ability to lift to 25 pounds. Ability to access and produce information from the computer.
