Job Details:
We are seeking a seasoned Food Scientist for our Research & Development Product Development team. This is a permanent position in the Manufacturing industry. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food science, with a particular focus on pasta and sauces. Your primary role will be to develop new products from concept to commercialization, ensuring they meet our high standards for taste, quality, and safety. You will be working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful launch of new products. This position requires a minimum of 5+ years of experience in a similar role.
Responsibilities:
1. Develop new food products and reformulate existing ones from bench top to commercialization.
2. Conduct sensory testing to ensure product quality and consistency.
3. Develop and manage costing models for new product development.
4. Ensure all products are developed in compliance with Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) standards.
5. Develop customer specific prototypes based on their unique needs and preferences.
6. Collaborate with the culinary team to develop innovative and delicious products.
7. Work closely with the Quality Assurance team to ensure food safety and quality standards are met.
8. Collaborate with Marketing, Sales, and Operations teams to ensure successful product launch.
9. Keep up-to-date with the latest food science research and industry trends.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Culinary Arts, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
2. A minimum of 5+ years of experience in food science, R&D, or product development.
3. Experience with bench top, commercialization, R&D, sensory testing, costing models, and GFSI Standards.
4. Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and standards.
5. Proven experience in developing customer specific prototypes.
6. Culinary background is strongly preferred.
7. Experience with pasta and sauces is strongly preferred.
8. Excellent project management skills.
9. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
10. Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
11. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other related software.
12. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
13. Willingness to travel as required.
