About the Role: We are looking for a creative and results-driven Product Development Engineer to spearhead the design, development, and enhancement of innovative stormwater treatment solutions for AquaShield. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the end-to-end product development process, from concept to market launch, ensuring that products meet market needs, regulatory standards, and business goals. This role requires a proactive engineer who can collaborate across functions to drive technical innovation, regulatory compliance, and commercial success.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the product development lifecycle, including ideation, prototyping, testing, and optimization of stormwater treatment products such as hydrodynamic separators, filtration systems, and subsurface storage solutions.
- Utilize market research, customer feedback, and data-driven insights to develop product specifications that address industry challenges and regulatory requirements.
- Oversee the testing and validation of new products, ensuring compliance with relevant standards such as ASTM and securing regulatory approvals (e.g., NJCAT verification).
- Develop testing protocols and partner with laboratories and third-party verifiers to ensure rigorous product evaluation.
- Collaborate with internal teams, including R&D, engineering, marketing, and sales, to align product development efforts with business strategy and customer needs.
- Engage with external stakeholders, including international manufacturers, regulators, and industry experts, to validate designs and streamline product certifications.
- Monitor market trends, competitor products, and evolving regulatory landscapes to continuously enhance existing product lines and develop new solutions.
- Work closely with sales and marketing teams to incorporate customer feedback into product designs, ensuring that new products address both technical and commercial needs.
- Lead and manage product development projects from concept to launch, ensuring timely delivery, budget adherence, and quality standards.
- Develop comprehensive product documentation, including design specifications, test results, regulatory submissions, and marketing materials.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree Engineering, or a related field. Strong foundation in product development and stormwater treatment technologies preferred.
- 5-10 years of experience in product development, particularly in water treatment or environmental engineering.
- Proven track record of taking products from concept through development, testing, and successful market launch.
- Experience with various filtration media and stormwater management systems.
- Expertise in ASTM standards, product testing protocols, and regulatory approvals for stormwater equipment.
- Proficiency in design and testing of stormwater treatment systems, including hydrodynamic separators and subsurface infiltration solutions.
- Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of presenting technical information clearly to diverse audiences, including engineers, regulators, and non-technical stakeholders.
- Willingness to travel as needed for product testing, customer meetings, and collaboration with partners.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in cloud-based monitoring systems for product performance tracking.
- Active involvement in technical committees (e.g., ASTM, CSA) focused on the development of industry standards for stormwater treatment.
