Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Product Engineer with a minimum 4-5 years of experience in 3D/2D CAD and a working knowledge 3-axis/5-axis CNC machining and injection molding processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong engineering background, with experience in translating design requirements to CAD models and physical prototypes. Working directly with DARCOs R&D Director and Global VP of Product Development, you will collaborate closely with design, production, and engineering teams to ensure that designs are functional, manufacturable, and aligned with industry standards. This role is essential in driving product development from concept through production, ensuring both technical precision and manufacturability.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and prepare 2D technical drawings and manufacturing instructions using CAD software. Maintain an accurate and complete database of product drawings for all products in the global DARCO catalog.
  • Create and modify 3D CAD models to support product development and improvement. Familiarity with software platforms Solidworks, CATIA, and Rhino3D is preferred.
  • Analyze product design requirements and translate them into physical prototypes, ensuring alignment with stated design requirements.
  • Collaborate with design engineers, product managers, and production teams to meet project specifications.
  • Revise designs and drawings based on feedback from engineering and production teams, ensuring accuracy and functionality.
  • Create bills of materials (BOMs) and work instructions for the fabrication and assembly teams.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations (e.g., ASME, ISO, ANSI).
  • Maintain and organize design documentation and ensure all models and drawings are up to date.
  • Coordinate with vendors and stakeholders to ensure that designs meet manufacturing requirements.
  • Support the project team in problem-solving by providing accurate drafting and design solutions.

Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field.

  • Experience: Minimum 4-5 years of experience with 3D/2D CAD and in a manufacturing or product development environment.

  • Required Skills:

  • Proficiency in SolidWorks, CATIA, Rhino3D or similar CAD software platforms.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical design principles and technical drafting techniques.
  • Experience in creating technical drawings, tech pack, and BOMs.
  • Familiarity with CNC machining and injection molding processes.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to produce accurate technical documentation.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally.
  • Ability to follow instructions and willingness to learn new skills from experienced industry professionals.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Prior knowledge of knowledge of industry standards, such as ISO 9001 and ISO 13485.
  • Knowledge of industries such as automotive, consumer goods, or medical devices.
  • Experience working with production teams and continuous improvement processes.
