Manufacturing Engineer Responsibilities & Duties Oversee and manage the engineering projects and processes essential with rotational molding. Review/oversee/develop tooling and manufacturing processes. Work collaboratively with operations and manufacturing personnel. Review, refine and develop processes for project management, maintenance, BOM updates and engineering training. Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in manufacturing processes and procedures by studying current product manufacturing methods, determining root cause corrective action plans, and successfully implementing solutions to the floor. Draft and design plant layout visions in AutoCAD presenting equipment, materials, and workspace to illustrate lean manufacturing product flow. Provide concept designs, prototypes, and pre-production samples for development testing. Lead cross-functional teams in the design and development of new rotationally molded products and processes. Manage and support the implementation of new equipment and technology to enhance manufacturing efficiency. Collaborate with quality control, engineering, and other departments to ensure that products meet quality and safety standards. Provide technical support and troubleshoot manufacturing issues. Conduct cost analysis and make recommendations for cost savings and process improvements. Prepare technical reports, presentations, and documentation to communicate findings and progress. Mentor and train junior team members to develop their skills and knowledge. Manufacturing Engineer Qualifications & Skills 5 years of experience in manufacturing engineering. Rotational molding and/or blow molding plastic manufacturing experience. Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing principles, and proven ability to implement lean tools. Working knowledge of Six Sigma DMAIC strategy used to improve, optimize, and stabilize manufacturing processes and designs. Possess strong ME and IE skill sets that will be utilize in value stream transformations. Technical expertise reading 2D and 3D CAD drawings. Communication skills that allow for participation in customer meetings and team projects. Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficient in using computer-aided design (CAD) software and other relevant tools. A degree in plastics engineering is a plus.
