Job Overview:
The Manufacturing Quality Engineer with 2-3 years of experience will be responsible for ensuring that the products manufactured by the company meet customer specifications and industry standards. They will play a lead role in identifying and resolving quality issues, implementing process improvements, and developing and maintaining quality control procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work within the Manufacturing Engineering team to assure quality characteristics are designed into production planning.
- Create and complete FAI reports utilizing software such as Net Inspect.
- Analyze first pass yield data and put together RCCA documentation.
- Determine and establish inspection planning.
- Review and assign quality code for all parts.
- Review inventory paperwork.
- Coordination with Supplier Quality regarding the tracking of supplier issues/certifications.
- Facilitation of corrective actions and continuous improvement methods.
- Compile and/or evaluate quality data (e.g.: engineering changes, non-conformances, test problems, test results).
- Develop/Present quality reports/presentations to program/facility/business management.
Qualifications:
- 2-3 years of experience and bachelor's degree in engineering, quality control, or a related field.
- In absence of a degree, 3-6 years of experience in a quality engineering or related role.
- Experience/education with the interpretation of technical drawings, RCCA, containment plans, FAI, Pareto analysis, cause/effect diagrams, and process mapping.
- Experience in Microsoft Office Suites.
- Ability to lead product or process non-conformance investigations (i.e. 8-D, DIVEs) preferred.
- Experience with Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA), Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ).
- Knowledge of UPPAP core elements (PFMEA, MSA, Process Flow, and Control Plans) preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical engineering drawings.
- Data Analysis with strong Excel skills, and general ability to use Microsoft Office.
- Ability to work across and communicate with all levels of the organization.
