Manufacturing/Process Engineer

Busek is seeking a dependable and self-driven Manufacturing/Process Engineer to collaborate with our Manufacturing, Design Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations teams, and Technicians. This role is crucial to ensure smooth production processes across R&D and manufacturing environments, supporting the company's mission to deliver advanced space propulsion technologies.
- Enhancing production efficiency and reducing costs while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Optimizing designs for manufacturability, bringing innovative space systems into production.
- Leading process improvements to scale operations and improve reliability.
- Collaborating with engineers, technicians, and supply chain professionals to bring advanced technologies to life.
- Lead Design for Manufacturing/Assembly/Cost (DfX) efforts to ensure cost-effective, efficient production designs.
- Prototype, source, and assemble engineering components in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Plan, qualify, and improve manufacturing processes, aligning them with production goals.
- Develop and release manufacturing procedures for standardized operations.
- Monitor and analyze key manufacturing parameters to ensure process control.
- Drive continuous process improvements to enhance productivity and quality.
- Ensure robust quality control by planning and executing control plans.
- Manage Engineering and Manufacturing Change Orders (ECOs/MCOs), ensuring smooth transitions during design updates.
- Education & Experience:
- B.S. in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering with 5+ years of relevant industry experience.
- Proven experience in medium or high-volume production environments, New Product Introduction (NPI), and Design for Manufacturing (DfM).
- Manufacturing Expertise:
- Expertise in process controls (Cpk, Ppk), DOE methodologies, Lean manufacturing, and Six Sigma techniques.
- Experience in prototyping, assembly, and complex manufacturing process planning.
- Experience with PLM/PDM systems and managing ECOs/MCOs.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in CAD tools (SolidWorks or CREO) to create and modify designs.
- Familiarity with coding languages for process automation and data analysis.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and Word for data tracking and reporting.
- Industry Standards & Supply Chain:
- Knowledge of ISO-9001, ANSI Z1.4, and ASME Y14.5.
- Supply chain management experience, including vendor sourcing and production planning.
- Aerospace or medical device manufacturing experience, or familiarity with stringent quality/regulatory standards.
- Experience transitioning products from design to low-rate initial production (LRIP).
- Additional Skills:
- Hands-on experience with welding techniques (orbital, electron beam, TIG, laser, brazing).
- Experience in government-funded R&D and production environments.
