The Manufacturing Engineer analyzes manufacturing drawings, job specifications and related data to visualize the manufacturing and machining processes to make the parts.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The majority of the day will be spent sitting at a desk.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Office environment along with time spent on the shop floor.

JOB SUMMARY: The Manufacturing Engineer analyzes manufacturing drawings, job specifications and related data to visualize the manufacturing and machining processes to make the parts.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- To develop the most effective manufacturing processes to meet customer needs.
- To estimate the time and material cost of the manufacturing process.
- Provide engineering solutions for optimizing cost, process, and delivery schedules.
- Utilizing communication skills with customers, suppliers and employees.
- Develop process routers and Bills of Materials.
- Consult with sales team, shop floor team, vendors and customers as needed to:
- Confirm customer requirements and ensure expectations are understood.
- Review internal capabilities to ensure the job specifications can be met.
- Identify scheduling conflicts, production bottlenecks, and missing information.
- Obtain accurate and competitive pricing.
- Modify engineering drawings by developing additional drawings that depict the cutting, bending and shaping of sheet metal necessary to produce components and assemblies per our customers drawings.
- Evaluate engineering changes suggested by Fabrication Personnel; After approval by customer and receipt of updated drawings, revise any and all internal documentation and programs.
- Review and evaluate ECR’s, engineering memorandums and drawings received from our customers; recommend alternatives if necessary.
- Research and resolve problems encountered during manufacturing and fabrication of components and assembly.
- Develop the proper file format for transferring into machines that cut sheet metal and plate using lasers, turret punches and press brakes.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience:
- 2+ years of experience in a Manufacturing Engineering environment.
- Ability to utilize 3D CAD programs with an emphasis on SolidWorks.
- Understanding of sheet metal fabrication processes and machining processes.
- Ability to develop cost estimation for a wide variety of projects and parts.
- Ability to identify key components of manufacturing problems and formulate a solution.
- Licensures and Certifications: None
- Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred
