Key Responsibilities:
- Production Oversight: Manage daily production activities, ensuring alignment with company goals and timelines.
- Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor production teams, fostering a culture of collaboration and accountability.
- Lean Manufacturing: Implement and maintain lean manufacturing principles to streamline operations, reduce waste, and enhance productivity.
- Continuous Improvement: Lead continuous improvement projects focused on optimizing processes, enhancing product quality, and improving efficiency.
- Kaizen Initiatives: Facilitate Kaizen events to identify and solve problems collaboratively, promoting a culture of ongoing improvement.
- Performance Metrics: Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess production performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Safety Compliance: Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies, promoting a safe working environment.
- Cross-Department Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, quality assurance, and supply chain teams to drive improvements and resolve production issues.
- Training and Development: Oversee training programs for team members to enhance skills and knowledge related to production processes and lean practices.
- Reporting: Provide regular reports to senior management on production performance, improvement initiatives, and team achievements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in manufacturing management, preferably in the railroad equipment or heavy machinery sectors.
- Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
