SUMMARYDevelops, optimizes, and assists in the maintenance of manufacturing processes, systems, machines, tooling, and equipment across a diverse range of operations. Focuses on improving production efficiency, ensuring product quality, utilizing common project management techniques, adhering to safety and environmental standards. Creates necessary process documentation and aids in communication with appropriate staff.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS•Designs, implements, and optimizes manufacturing processes to increase efficiency, improve production capacity, reduce waste, and ensure quality standards are met.•Evaluates current manufacturing processes for potential efficiency, quality, safety, cost, and capacity improvements utilizing knowledge of established manufacturing processes, product designs, and lean manufacturing/continuous improvement principles, providing recommendations for improvement (upgrades, new technology, process/product design changes, etc).•Collaborates with cross-functional teams including production, quality assurance, maintenance, and design engineering to resolve manufacturing issues and implement solutions.•Assists manufacturing with decision-making by calculating production, labor, and material costs, reviewing production schedules, and estimating future requirements.•Collaborates with design engineering to develop manufacturing methods for new products.•Leads Project Management activities to include coordination and completion of capital projects on time, within budget, and within scope.•Participates in capital equipment justification, selection, and implementation.•Designs and prepares concept drawings of new equipment or modifications to existing equipment. •Conducts feasibility studies, process simulations, and risk assessments for new processes or process changes.•Creates and maintains manufacturing documentation, including work instructions, process flows, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).•Participates in supplier qualification and development activities related to manufacturing processes and materials.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE•Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field. Equivalent professional experience will also be considered.•Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in manufacturing engineering or a similar role within a manufacturing environment.•Proven track record of successfully implementing process improvements and driving operational excellence.•Experience with a variety of manufacturing processes listed above is highly desirable.KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS•Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, fabrication methods, tool design, and production principles.•Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) for design and process improvement.•Ability to read blueprints, drawings, or schematics.•Experience with Lean Manufacturing principles, Six Sigma methodologies, and statistical analysis tools.•Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with a data-driven approach to decision making.•Effective communication skills to collaborate across different departments and levels of the organization.•Project management skills to lead and coordinate process improvement projects effectively.
