The Manufacturing Manager collaborates with the Plant Manager to plan, organize, direct and control the activities of all manufacturing. Administer manufacturing plant operation policies and functions to achieve on-time customer deliveries with optimum labor efficiency at budgeted spending levels.

Responsibilities:

Provide input to manufacturing department budget development; maintain conformance to budgetary limitations.

Initiate problem-solving sessions with manufacturing personnel, quality control and production control, where production problems exist and actual output varies from plan.

Improves quality results issued by the Quality Assurance / Quality Control Department by studying, evaluating, and re-designing processes; implementing changes.

Maintains adequate resources, plans and monitors production progress to ensure deliveries are made on schedule and within reasonable budget standards dictated by final designs.

Prime liaison between engineering and design and the fabrication shop.

Strong working knowledge of ASTM, ASME, Boiler and Material Codes and Standards with emphasis on ASME Code Sections III, VIII and I and non-Code material selection, creep stress analysis, working knowledge of NDE methods, PT, MT, UT, phased array UT, and RT.

Assist in analyzing all jobs in shop for over runs and assist in the development of lessons learned for continuous improvements.

Teach, train and guide supervisors and hourly personnel in effective manufacturing techniques.

Verify accurate representation of project budgets and successful adherence to budgets, working with Manufacturing and the project managers to determine recovery plans when performing outside of budgets .

Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 5 years of management experience in the overall direction of manufacturing functions.

Hands-on manufacturing experience in a job shop heavy steel welding and fabrication environment.

Experience as a project manager, planner or scheduler for a manufacturing facility using Earned Value Management (EVM) is a plus.

Proficiency in Microsoft Operating Systems.

Familiarity with MRP systems.

Primavera Scheduling Software (P6) and MS Project experience or ability to learn required.
