Our client is seeking a manufacturing engineer who will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing manufacturing processes and systems to ensure efficient production and high-quality products. The role involves analyzing production methods, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing strategies to enhance productivity, reduce costs, and maintain product quality.
Job Function:
- Design, develop, and improve manufacturing processes, procedures, and layouts to achieve production goals.
- Identify and implement cost-effective process improvements, including automation, tooling upgrades, and workflow optimizations.
- Conduct time and motion studies, process flow analysis, and capacity planning to maximize efficiency and throughput.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design engineers and production managers, to ensure seamless integration of processes.
- Provide technical support and guidance to production teams to resolve manufacturing issues and achieve production targets.
- Investigate and troubleshoot process failures, quality problems, and equipment malfunctions, and implement corrective actions.
- Develop and maintain production documentation, including work instructions, process specifications, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Perform root cause analysis and implement preventive measures to minimize production downtime and ensure product quality.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing principles, such as 5S, Six Sigma, and Kaizen.
- Identify and eliminate waste, reduce variability, and streamline production processes to optimize productivity and reduce costs.
- Lead or participate in cross-functional teams to implement lean tools and techniques and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
- Conduct regular process audits and performance evaluations to track progress and identify areas for further improvement.
- Identify, evaluate, and recommend new equipment, tools, and technologies to improve manufacturing processes and capabilities.
- Collaborate with equipment vendors to ensure proper installation, commissioning, and validation of new equipment.
- Develop and maintain preventive maintenance schedules and procedures to ensure optimal equipment performance and longevity.
- Provide training and guidance to operators and maintenance personnel on equipment operation and maintenance best practices.
- Collaborate with quality engineers and inspectors to develop and implement quality control plans and ensure adherence to quality standards.
- Conduct process capability studies, statistical analysis, and gauge repeatability and reproducibility (R&R) studies to ensure process capability.
- Participate in internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and certifications.
- Implement and maintain appropriate documentation and recordkeeping systems to support regulatory requirements.
- Lead or contribute to cross-functional projects related to process improvement, new product introductions, and cost reduction initiatives.
- Collaborate with design engineers to ensure manufacturability of new products and effective transfer from R&D to production.
- Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to ensure timely delivery of materials, equipment, and services.
Job Requirement:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, preferably in mechanical, industrial, or manufacturing engineering.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, including machining, assembly, fabrication, and automation.
- Proficiency in process optimization, Lean Manufacturing, and quality improvement methodologies.
- Familiarity with CAD/CAM software and manufacturing simulation tools.
- Experience with statistical analysis, data-driven decision-making, and process control techniques.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical thinking, and decision-making skills.
