Our three divisions, Engineering and Test, Technical Services, and Mission Systems makes DTB a diverse and challenging place to work.As a Manufacturing Technician, you will be required to operate, setup, program a variety of CNC machines/lathe to enhance the productivity of our organization. The successful candidate will perform, under moderate supervision, the duties related to Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machining, including machining methods, and tooling concepts. Additional responsibilities will include: Utilize personal knowledge of tooling to properly and efficiently machine company product.Ability to visualize setups and transfer that knowledge onto paper as instructions for the operators to set-up the machine accurately.Optimize tooling packages and tool selectionWork on cycle time reduction/set up time reductionAd-Hoc Problem SolvingTooling, fixture, machine ad-hoc problem solvingRead and edit G and M code as neededDesign and develop part tooling, jigs, and other holding fixturesInterpret internal and customer-supplied engineering drawings and provide machining strategies that reduce time and cost while ensuring First Time Right manufacturingHelp manage active machine shop workload and schedule incoming jobsReview material and process certs for conformance to purchase orders and engineering drawingsRoute incoming material and assign it to active or incoming jobsCreate purchase requisitions for raw material, heat treatment, and other part finishing and inspection processesPerform in-process and first-time part inspectionsSupport a quick turnaround or prototype line of partsDevelop manufacturing processes and flows to maximize manufacturing throughputDevelop work instructions for equipmentProvide technical support to other machine shop personnelReview engineering drawings and support sales in estimating quotesThe ideal Candidate will need:US Citizenship requiredMinimum High school diploma or equivalent with 6+ years' CNC Programming and/or metal fabrication techniques experience Certificate in CNC, a plusAbility to work over-time when neededExperience in computer-aided design and manufacturing CAD/CAM softwareKnowledge of machine shop safe practicesKnowledge of lean manufacturing practices (experience in, preferred)Experience in "one-off" parts and prototype production.Ability to demonstrate the ability to apply creative manufacturing techniques to produce first article parts in-toleranceAbility to read and edit machine programming languageAbility to read and interpret blueprintsStrong understanding of GD&TAble to set up and run a machineExperience with HAAS MachinesAbility to operate manual machinery (Bridgeport, Lathe)Ability to implement manufacturing processesAbility to perform in process quality inspection on partsGood written and verbal communication skills, with a focus on customer serviceProblem solving skillsSigma/Lean a plusExcellent interpersonal skills and be willing to collaborate in a team environmentExcellent organizational skills and attention to detailMust be able to function in a fast-paced environment with strict deadlinesUnderstanding of engineering drawings - symbols, dimensions, and tolerancesDayton T.
