Company Description
Position Summary The Manufacturing Engineer will work within the Engineering Department to create and evaluate existing manufacturing processes for vertical and horizontal lathes, and multi-axis milling machines.
Responsibilities
- Develop cost effective manufacturing process to support 4-5 axis machining centers
- Design cost effective and quick changeover manufacturing fixtures and tooling
- Create shop floor documentation including operation sheets and work instructions
- Implement cost reduction initiatives utilizing Lean Manufacturing techniques
- Initiate corrective actions to floor processes
- Cost estimating and quoting
- Participation in lean and continuous improvement events
Qualifications:
- Experience with Aerospace materials
- Proficient with Unigraphics NX4-5, CAM and 3D modeling
- Must be accustomed to deadlines and accountability
- Experience with complex aerospace parts including milling and turning processes
- Lean manufacturing techniques
- Effective time management skills including multi-tasking
- Ability to read blueprints. Speak and write reports in English.
- High attention to detail.
- Develop and follow procedures.
- 3+ years experience
