Arnold Machine Inc., Tiffin, OH is a full-service designer and manufacturer of high quality, innovative automated equipment. Arnold Machine, Inc. is a team of experienced engineers and machine tradesmen that can design and build virtually any type of customized automated equipment. We are seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineer who will be responsible for assisting with the manufacturing quoting process, printing and assembling quoted drawings, managing mid-size to small projects, designing/revising parts and prints, creating 3-D models, and providing engineering support to the Director of Operations. This position requires individual performance while being a member of a cross functional team. The manufacturing engineer will report directly to the Mechanical Engineering Team Leader while working closely with all operations and project team leaders. The manufacturing engineer will be asked to assist with the development and training of new team members and work study students.

Responsibilities

  • The Manufacturing Engineer supports production personnel in the design, build, and testing of finished products. Communicates project details to production, provides resource needs, and problem resolution.
  • Provide design packages by printing, assembling, and revising customer designs to meet our production requirements.
  • Engineering knowledge of fundamental calculations supporting product development, product design, and shop floor processes as required to estimate product cost. Fluent in 2D and 3D modeling is essential for developing equipment concepts, designing tooling and fixtures, and revising Arnold Machine and customer prints to meet production requirements.
  • Basic knowledge of electrical controls.
  • Provide manufacturing support for de-bug and final qualification of the equipment.
  • Receive, review, and document customer specifications and testing procedures.
  • Assist the manufacturing project team as needed to develop concepts and budgets. Create Bill of Materials (BOM), gather material quotes, and organize proposed outsourcing demands.
  • Provide design support to the mechanical engineering team with drawings, BOM creation, and system documentation.
  • Ability to work independently while effectively coordinating work with other team members.
  • Coordinate/manage multiple engineering projects as a member of a cross functional team.
