We are seeking an innovative Manufacturing Engineer to join our team. Responsibilities:
  • Perform all duties in a safe manner and in accordance with Company policies.
  • Design and implementation of electromechanical equipment and control systems
  • Develop and troubleshoot systems to minimize and resolve production issues and project costs.
  • Create systems and validations to ensure all products meet quality control standards
  • Plan and establish sequence of operations to fabricate and assemble parts or products and to promote efficient utilization
  • Draft and design layout of equipment, materials, and workspace to illustrate maximum efficiency
  • Coordination and completion of actions derived from Change Orders, Feedbacks and CAPAs
  • Coordination with R&D and Production to facilitate the transfer of R&D scale projects to full-scale production.
  • The Engineer is expected to set high standards of performance, behavior, and ethics for themselves and all (internal and external) representatives of the company, in-line with company values.
  • The Engineer will recommend allocation of company resources, including money, for the improvement of equipment related to the production of current and future MPI products and processes.
  • The Engineer will be responsible for process monitoring and reporting as required by the Operations Manager. The Engineer will perform all duties and strive to insure MPIs compliance with all regulations including ITAR, QMS and EH&S.
  • Provide training for department as needed.
  • Support plant ISO program, lean manufacturing, and process improvement initiatives.
  • Keep work area and department clean and organized.Keep facility in compliance with applicable safety, environment, and building regulations, permits and codes.
  • Perform all other tasks as directed by Purafil manufacturing leadership.
  • Train team members as required.

    Performance Metrics

    The success of this role is measured using a number of Key Performance Indicators. These may be varied from time to time but will include:

    • Equipment reliability
    • OEE FPY
    • Cost of Manufacture
    • Adherence to approved budgets while completing projects EH&S Incidents
    • Compliance with QMS and ITAR requirements
Qualifications:
  • A bachelors degree is required with a preference towards Mechanical, Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering.
  • A minimum 5-year successful track record supporting production in a manufacturing company, preferably within the chemical industry or equivalent suitable experience.
  • Ability to interpret and create technical electrical and layout drawings and P&IDs Advanced knowledge of machines and tools, their designs, uses, repair and maintenance. Experience with lean manufacturing practices, 5S and/or Six Sigma.

Other

  • This position is entirely based in a manufacturing environment. Shifts last 8-12 hours per day, 4-6 days per week. Most of this time is spent walking and standing on concrete manufacturing floor in extreme heat and cold; climbing stairs and ladders; wearing personal protective equipment including safety glasses, earplugs, safety shoes, and dust mask. Requires weekend work as production needs dictate. Be able to lift fifty pounds.
