Manufacturing Engineer
Pay range 80,000- 110,000 BOE
Engineers are responsible for engineering aspects both "at the desk" and on the shop floor. Engineers shall be capable of understanding, creating, and editing CNC code used to machine both turned and milled products. Previous understanding and working ability with CAM software is a requirement.
Hands on ability working with both CNC miller and lathes is a requirement, including tool setting, fixture setup, tool offset adjustment, program try out, inspection of the resultant product and methods of adjustment to eliminate deviations. Experience with automation systems and Swiss style CNC lathes a plus.
Engineers shall be capable of creating and troubleshooting multi-step manufacturing processes, have a though understanding of GD&T, Specifications (AMS, SAE, etc.) and Lean practices. Engineers shall have the ability to independently troubleshoot problematic processes to create and implement structured countermeasures issues.
The ability to work in a team setting with a variety of individuals is essential.

Requirements
- Troubleshoot problematic manufacturing processes.
- Existing processes may be producing sub-standard products, non-compliant products or may need excessive maintenance.
- Help create functional processes.
- Support proposed manufacturing steps in order to produce a product in the most efficient manner possible.
- Create and edit CNC programs.
- Create new and edit existing CNC programs utilizing both manual "G code" programming and CAM software.
- Help create successful inspection processes.
- Support creation of inspection methods and gauges for new and modified manufacturing components and processes.
- Perform successful Continuous Improvement activities on existing processes.
- Perform investigations into problematic processes, create and implement countermeasures to issues discovered utilizing established LEAN tools.
- Interact successfully with peers and co-workers of all levels to resolve issues and improve processes.
- Work with all staff members as part of the process formation and investigative process so that new and modified processes will have the maximum positive impact on the Company.
- Support the design of multistep manufacturing processes to produce a specified product to all internal and external customer requirements
- Have a good working skill set using CAM software.
- SolidWorks and SURFCAM software.
- Minimum of 5 years working in a CNC machining environment
- A "Self-Starter".
- 5 years "hands on" experience working with CNC lathes and millers.
- Ability to take personal ownership of a project and drive it to successful completion.
- Fully understand GD&T.
- The ability to both manually and via CAM software, edit "G code" CNC programs both at CNC machines and via remote terminals.
- MS Office product expertise.
- Exposure and understanding of Lean manufacturing philosophy.
- Be a "team" player.
- Exhibit professionalism and courtesy in all interactions
- Experience with variable CNC programming is helpful.
- Okuma and Fanuc CNC controls, experience using these is helpful.
- This position will require time spent on a partially air-conditioned manufacturing floor and in a climate-controlled office.
- Considerable time will be spent on the manufacturing floor working directly on machinery and with shop floor personnel.
- Standing, walking, and bending will be required during much of the day.
- Ability to climb stairs.
- Ability to lift items up to 35 pounds.
- There are no direct reports to this position.
- This is a salaried, 1st shift position.
- A standard work week consists of a minimum of 45 hours per 5-day week, additional hours may be required depending upon Customer demand.
