About The Role


My client is a large energy services company with a broad range of products and services for the oil and gas upstream market. The shop in Wallingford manufactures wellhead surveillance products that provides insight into well performance and helps customers improve well efficiency and overall reservoir production. The Technician will be hands on in every aspect of the production process and hone their skills in mechanical, electronic, and electrical assembly, testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance.


Responsibilities


  • To provide Manufacturing support for the Meters department in Wallingford, CT
  • Inspection, testing, assembling, packing and shipping Meters products and ancillary components required for customer sales or production surveillance
  • Contributing to sustaining manufacturing engineering activities including documentation of processes and maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of production equipment, development of new and improvements to existing production process flows
  • Inspection of incoming components or assemblies – mechanical and electronic skill set required
  • Use of SAP and company documents, work instructions, travelers to perform work activities under ISO system and other regulatory requirements
  • Assembly of sub-components - mechanical and electrical
  • Testing of sub-components – mechanical and electrical
  • Documenting any non-conforming materials, isolating them from the production floor
  • System level assembly and testing – mechanical and electrical
  • Final testing to company's requirements and customer specific requirements
  • Accurate and timely completion of paperwork, internal records and external certifications
  • Packing and shipping of finished product
  • Support of Flow Lab testing activities


Qualifications


  • Attention to detail and high level of repeatable quality in final product
  • Detailed record keeping maintaining product traceability and ISO and FM product and process approvals
  • Variable workload and priorities based on demand from sales or operations team
  • Fast turnaround can be required, deadlines need to be met
  • Working inside small team requires flexibility and accountability
  • Technician with mechanical, electrical and electronic skill set
  • Ability to solder to a known standard
  • Comprehensive understanding of mechanical assembly techniques
  • Use of oscilloscope, network analyzer, hi-pot tester for electronics testing
  • Ability to operate assembly and test equipment, ovens, vacuum degassers, fume hood to support manufacturing operations
  • Previous experience in manufacturing environment
  • Associate Degree in a technical field, or equivalent work experience
  • Excellent verbal communication, written and organizational skills
  • Computer skills to operate final test stations, use of SAP and Microsoft Office Suite to create work instructions
