The Junior Manufacturing Engineer is a great opportunity for the right candidate to become a part of a dedicated team of aerospace manufacturing professionals. This position will be responsible for performing general engineering tasks that optimize the processing capabilities of the facility through process development and verification. This individual will analyze process flow, develop performance enhancements, and monitor production results.

Reports to: Engineering Manager
Key Responsibilities (After Initial training and with the guidance of senior manufacturing engineering personnel, the position will be responsible for the following):

- Support and/or improve systems that optimize the efficiency of material flow throughout the facility.
- Support senior manufacturing engineering personnel in the development of the most efficient and cost-effective manufacturing process and sequence of production operations from blueprints, quality documents, and purchase orders.
- Coordinate production processes by supporting the creation of operation sheets and providing all manufacturing-related information.
- Create material process requisitions with technical data requirements for specialized manufacturing processes.
- Develop the most effective solutions to production and quality problems that are related to material, production processes and tools.
- Support product and process engineering related activities during the development stage from raw material to finished product
- Research and development process sheets with proper work instructions for the operators, inspectors and shipping.
- Act as a liaison for the shop process development, integrating with management, shop personnel, purchasing, production control, vendors, and customers to make the job as productive as possible.
- Implement all Engineering Changes from the Customer to the process sheets, programs, etc.
- Interact with various internal functions to provide manufacturing engineering support for production.
- Participate in Root Cause Analysis and implementation of Corrective Actions.
- Support optimization projects to improve quality outcomes, reduce production costs, and shorten cycle time.
- Build trust and confidence with customers to resolve engineering, manufacturing, and quality issues.
- Perform various other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
- Perform some lifting, move instrumentation, and perform testing in various areas of the facility.
- Travel 5-10% domestically and internationally as required.
- Participate in training as required.
Physical Demands:
Must be able to lift, push, or pull at least 50 lbs.
Regularly required to sit, stand, reach, bend, and move about our facility.
Work Environment:
Work is performed in a combination of office and plant settings.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar discipline.
- Demonstrate the ability to work with CAD Systems such as Solidworks, NX 7.5 and above, Microsoft Office to generate work instructions/process sheets.
- Possess a desire for practical and tangible ‘hands-on’ work in a manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated record or desire of the same for the self-directed management of multiple tasks in a high-tempo manufacturing environment.
- Must possess excellent skills in blueprint reading and interpretation and have the ability to understand customer requirements and specifications.
- Must be able to read, write, understand, and speak English at a functional level.
- Must be a “US Person” as defined by US Government and able to work without restriction with ITAR related data.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Demonstrate knowledge or experience in the machining of nickel and titanium-based alloys preferred (i.e. milling, turning, broaching, and unique processes).
- Demonstrate a determined commitment to overcome challenges to resolve issues and accomplish both company and personal objectives.
