Job Description
We’re seeking a candidate to work closely with Process/Project Engineering and Operations to coordinate activities connected with technical developments, scheduling and resolving design and test problems.
What You’ll Be Doing: Maintain and apply aerospace knowledge of specifications and processes to the engineering process, including estimates and production process planning. Coordinating activities connected with technical developments, scheduling and resolving design and test problems. Estimate labor and raw material costs, based on knowledge of products and processes. Develop complete and accurate product cost estimates for all aspects of Request for Quotations, including tooling, equipment, cost to manufacture product. Coordinate and plan tooling requirements and processes and determining the appropriate routings for the manufacturing or purchase of the company’s products. Become familiar with and develop a good working knowledge of the manufacturing processes that the company uses to produce product. Constantly review the manufacturing processes for the purpose of understanding current costs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Others as assigned.
Estimating/Pre - New Product Launch:
- Estimate cost for quotes, review and supply estimates as needed.
- Maintain and apply up to date knowledge of:
- Manufacturing processes and methods
- RFC intercompany department responsibilities and resources: equipment and capabilities.
- Maintain and apply working knowledge of customer specifications for Aerospace industry sectors and how they impact processes, i.e., heat treat, aging, fabrication, and metallurgy.
- Travel with and provide technical advice and assist in solving problems for Sales, Project Engineering, and other areas of the Company, including production.
- Work with Sales personnel and customers to develop optimum product design to fit our capabilities.
- Consult with tool designers and builders on optimum manufacturing methods.
New Product Launch
- Schedule and lead technical reviews prior to new product launch meetings.
- Transfer the knowledge of critical spec requirements to quality, project, and process engineering prior to new product launch meetings.
- Assist in ordering of nonstandard tooling for new product launches (tool holders, cutters, machining fixtures, gauges). Coordinate design reviews and supply project engineering with lead times.
- Supply process engineering with initial CNC tooling programs/simulations to convey optimum tools, tool paths, feeds, and speeds.
Current Production
- Responsible for keeping up to date with all active part revisions and supply project, process, quality, and sales engineering with needed data to launch new revisions. Launch Technical Reviews as needed.
- Assist process engineering with technical support as needed.
- Keep RFC estimating standards up to date (capabilities of processes and equipment).
Other Duties:
- Be involved with strategic planning of new machinery needed for the growth of the plant. Be fully involved with specifications of machines.
- Main contributor to R&D projects that lead to innovation of Aerospace manufacturing.
Schedule: This exempt-level role will primarily work eight or more hours per day, five days per week based on business needs and will primarily be day-time hours but may occasionally work or travel nights or weekends as needed.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience and training
- 2-5 Years’ Experience in manufacturing process engineering and/or launching new products. Should include experience with estimating and review of detailed customer specifications.
- Experience with Aerospace industry
- Strong computer skills with ability to learn new programs. Should be experienced with Microsoft Office with strong Excel spreadsheet knowledge, CAD and ability to learn new software, including internal manufacturing software
- US Person as defined by ITAR / EAR
