Title: Demand Planner

Location: Chicago, IL - 100% onsite

Position Purpose:
This position aims to provide focus and integration of data from Manufacturing, Marketing, and Sales to produce accurate and timely forecasts that can be used for operations and logistics. The role requires building strong and trusting relationships with key stakeholders in forecasting.

Responsibilities:
  • Detailed understanding of Demantra and ASCP, including the key inputs and outputs of the forecasting process.
  • Manage the forecast for all everyday items for assigned brands.
  • Gather and incorporate all sources of market intelligence from collaborative discussions with multiple functional groups to produce the best possible operational forecast.
  • Monitor and adjust forecasts for seasonal items using the “fixed” numbers provided by Marketing and Sales.
  • Report any forecast adjustments to Marketing and Manufacturing.
  • Conduct weekly and daily monitoring of forecasts, making adjustments as needed.
  • Provide direction to Operations regarding any demand issues within the system.
  • Report and monitor excess FG inventory for seasonal and customer-specific materials, working with the Marketing group on disposition of this material.
  • Interface with the Material Planners on “Do Not Purchase” items to prevent over-purchasing.
  • Manage and lead weekly demand planning meetings.
  • Create, update, and monitor process KPIs and diagnostics to ensure continual forecast improvement efforts.
  • Develop and lead the PLM process.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, or relevant work experience.
  • Strong interpersonal and analytical skills.
  • ERP system experience (Oracle preferred).
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a demand planning/forecasting role.
  • Intermediate or expert use of Microsoft Excel.
