Senior Manufacturing EngineerApplication Deadline: 29 December 2024Department: Vehicle Design / Analysis / IntegrationEmployment Type: Full TimeLocation: Irvine, CaliforniaReporting To: Deepak GroverCompensation: $120,000 - $150,000 / yearDescriptionThe Senior Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for overseeing and improving manufacturing processes, ensuring product quality, and supporting production operations. This role involves working closely with cross-functional teams to drive efficiency, innovation, and operational excellence in our manufacturing activities.Key ResponsibilitiesProcess Improvement: Analyze and optimize manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve product quality. Implement process improvements and best practices.Quality Assurance: Develop and enforce quality control standards to ensure that products meet or exceed specifications. Conduct root cause analysis and drive corrective actions for quality issues.Technical Support: Provide technical support for manufacturing operations, including troubleshooting and resolving complex issues related to equipment, processes, and materials.Project Management: Lead and manage manufacturing projects, including the implementation of new processes, technologies, and production lines. Oversee project timelines, resource allocation, and performance metrics.Collaboration: Work closely with design, engineering, and supply chain teams to ensure seamless integration of manufacturing processes with product designs and requirements.Documentation: Prepare and maintain detailed documentation of manufacturing processes, procedures, and performance metrics. Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.Training and Development: Mentor and train manufacturing engineers and technicians. Promote a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the team.QualificationsMinimum Qualifications:Education: Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.Experience: 4+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering, with a proven track record of process optimization and quality improvement.Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality control, and equipment management. Proficiency in manufacturing software and tools (e.g., CAD, ERP systems).Project Management: Experience managing manufacturing projects, including planning, execution, and performance monitoring.Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to address complex manufacturing challenges and implement effective solutions.Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and present technical information clearly.Must be able to obtain a Secret and/or a TS/SCI clearance.Preferred Qualifications:Education: Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.Experience: 5+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering, with significant experience in aerospace or high-tech industries.Advanced Skills: Expertise in advanced manufacturing techniques, process optimization, and technology integration.Certifications: Relevant certifications in manufacturing or quality management (e.g., Six Sigma Black Belt, Lean Manufacturing, PMP) are highly desirable.Industry Experience: Extensive experience in aerospace or space technology sectors, particularly with complex and high-precision manufacturing environments.Innovation: Demonstrated ability to drive innovation and continuous improvement in manufacturing processes and systems.ITAR Requirements: This position may include access to technology and/or software source code that is subject to U.S. export controls.
