We currently seek to fill the position of Senior Manufacturing Engineer to design, implement, monitor, and maintain manufacturing processes. This role consults with product engineers and manufacturing to achieve the most efficient and cost-effective way of producing high quality products, all while advancing KBC's mission of being a forward-thinking, collaborative, and ethical business. Responsibilities Responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing manufacturing processes to improve efficiency, quality, and safety. Assists manufacturing in the development and implementation of jigs, fixtures, and tooling in order to reduce lead times and cost. Implements lean manufacturing principles to reduce waste and increase efficiency. Supports increased capacity and quality improvements in the Injection Molding area. Reviews technical problems and departmental procedures and recommends solutions to problems or changes in procedures that may result in changes in ISO procedures. Collaborates with cross-functional teams, including design, quality, and production, to ensure seamless product development and manufacturing. Develops and maintains process documentation, including work instructions, process flow diagrams, and standard operating procedures. Works with Quality on inspection applications, and reviews ISO standards to ensure compliance with these standards. Supports Operations with the in-sourcing and re-shoring of products from NA suppliers, KFC, and other Kadant divisions. Oversees and mentors Manufacturing Engineering Technician role, which includes making hiring decisions, conducting performance appraisals, training, approving time off, and enforcing KBC policies. Qualifications Proven experience in a manufacturing engineering role. Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, lean manufacturing, and continuous improvement methodologies. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software. Proficient with CAD, including Solidworks. Demonstrates KBC values of personal accountability, discipline, trust, and proactive action. Position requires a broad knowledge of technical engineering, machining, and fabricating, along with the ability to read drawings. A Bachelor of Science degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field is required, along with five or more years of experience in manufacturing engineering.
