Position overview

We are seeking an hands-on and detail-oriented Lead manufacturing Engineer to oversee processes on the manufacturing floor, implement Statistical Process Control (SPC), and lead the generation and maintenance of manufacturing procedures. This role is critical in ensuring that manufacturing operations meet quality standards, ultimately contributing to the production of reliable and high-performing products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manufacturing Floor Control:
  • Oversee quality control measures on the production floor to ensure products meet established specifications.
  • Develop and enforce inspection standards for each manufacturing stage to proactively detect potential issues.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and corrective actions for any identified issues or production defects.
  • Statistical Process Control (SPC):
    • Implement SPC methods to monitor, control, and improve production processes.
    • Use statistical data to identify process variation, initiate improvements, and maintain process consistency.
    • Provide training to operators and other relevant staff on SPC principles and data interpretation.
  • Inspection and Testing:
    • Design and develop inspection processes, methods, and criteria for finished goods and raw materials.
    • Lead in-process inspection and testing activities to ensure adherence to standards.
    • Maintain inspection records and analyze data to identify trends, inconsistencies, or areas for improvement.
  • Procedure Generation and Documentation:
    • Develop, document, and implement work instructions, and protocols.
    • Ensure documentation is kept current, accessible, and aligns with both regulatory and company standards.
    • Work closely with other departments to align with overall manufacturing and business objectives.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in a quality or manufacturing engineering role.
  • Strong knowledge of SPC, Lean, Six Sigma, or similar quality control methodologies.
  • Excellent hands-on analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
