The Senior Manufacturing Engineer will review and analyze design engineering information to develop manufacturing documentation and processes for manufacturing work to proceed as smoothly as possible. Including: ensuring processes, work instructions, standard tooling, technician training, and deviation control methods are in place and available to manufacturing supervisors and technicians prior to beginning work to effectively improve quality, cost and delivery.THE ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:•Prepare and distribute design engineering data to the manufacturing area to ensure the complete transfer of information from design engineering to manufacturing technicians in a timely manner.•Monitor and provide engineering support to ensure customer products are manufactured and processes are operating economically and in control per management goals and quality expectations. Analyze, write, and implement deviations, develop and implement corrective actions.•Ensure drawings, bills of materials, inspection checksheets, and other information is available and used during manufacturing. Ensure the documentation and document books are completed, accurate, up to date, and with the product throughout the manufacturing lifecycle.•Monitor production progress to schedule and ensure production control boards and schedule displays are updated.•Assist and fill in for the Manufacturing Manager when needed in meetings.•Create and maintain manufacturing schedules to ensure manufacturing schedules are met.•Review customer delivery projects for raw materials, indirect materials, and consumables required in manufacturing. Ensure the raw materials, indirect materials, and consumables are ordered, delivered, and transacted to the manufacturing technicians in a timely manner to ensure continuous manufacturing.•Collaborate with plant engineers to develop equipment and tooling justifications, quotation requests, acceptance criteria, and purchasing documentation. Ensure standard tool boards are in place and used. When necessary, develop the purchasing documentation and order standard tools.•Develop and implement approved continual improvement projects involving process control, equipment, capacity and productivity targeting quality, cost and delivery performance.•Assist production supervisors in trouble-shooting process and quality problems. Act as a first level deviation approver. Perform root cause analysis, develop and implement countermeasures based on PDCA process.•Review, edit, and write work instructions. Ensure availability to technicians in the work areas.•Lead the training of manufacturing technicians through work instructions, standardized Lean methodologies, and process changes. Ensure the technician skillset is accurately displayed in the training matrix and develop technician training plans for upcoming special work, upskill, and increased capability.•Lean the training of new Manufacturing Engineers and other support Engineers.•Review specifications for new equipment, TPM requirements and operating work instructions.•Support equipment installation, process description, and operational/performance qualification activities for manufacturing equipment and manufacturing processes. Ensure all related documentation is in compliance with internal requirements including but not limited to 6S, crane logs, tool control, TPM, etc.•Analyze plant layout and propose improvements for manufacturing flow.•Ensure labor is collected, analyzed, and reported in a time manner. Assess and measure labor content to set process standards and evaluate variances.•Assist business areas in the creation of time-based Standard Work for all task and activity.•Collaborate with other departments to develop technical solutions to manufacturing problems, finding solutions that are thorough, practical, and consistent with organization objectives.•Apply statistical tools to complex problems and teach statistical tools to others as required.•Play a leadership role in the Plant Safety Program.•Further the goals and positive, professional image of Hyosung HICO.•Know Hyosung HICO's Quality, Safety and Environmental Policies and be able to fully discuss their importance and how they impact work.THE NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:•Support and assist the Manufacturing Manager as needed.•Perform other duties as assigned.REQUIRMENTS:EDUCATION/SPECIAL SKILLS/EXPERIENCE/TRAINING:•Bachelor's degree with concentration in manufacturing/tooling or related field required and 4 - 5 years' experience in manufacturing engineering or a commensurate level of experience with related products, or equivalent education and experience.•Developed knowledge of and skill with using statistical tools such as design of experiments (DOE), 6 Sigma and/or Statistical Process Control (SPC).•Advanced knowledge, participation, and leading others in the use of Continuous Improvement processes including Kaizen, VSM, SMED, PDCA.•Knowledge of CAD software or other engineering design and graphics software.•Advanced logical and critical thinking skills including the ability to develop, analyze and draw conclusions to problems.•Developed verbal and written communications skills.•Working knowledge of computer and other systems, emphasizing MS Office products, PLC's and equipment control systems.•Working knowledge of computerized maintenance management systems, SAP required.•Must be able to handle multiple projects simultaneously•Ability to work with vendors, customers, and employees•Must excel at working in a team environment with a customer service driven mentality.PHYSICAL/MENTAL CHARACTERISTICS OF THE POSITION AND ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS OF THE WORKPLACE:•Ability to use office equipment, such as: PC, photocopier, etc.•Ability to communicate with others to complete work assignments.•Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.•Ability to analyze data and develop accompanying reports.•Ability to maintain relationships with diverse groups.•Ability to communicate with others to complete work assignments.Hyosung HICO, Ltd., is an Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) Employer.
