Job Posting: Manufacturing Engineer
Are you a hands-on, experienced engineer passionate about machining and process improvement? We're looking for a Manufacturing Engineer to join our team as a technical leader on the shop floor and beyond. In this role, you’ll collaborate with machinists, CNC programmers, and engineers to optimize operations and drive excellence in manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Shop Floor Leadership (75%):
- Troubleshoot issues with CNC lathes and mills, ensuring all machines run efficiently.
- Collaborate with machinists, programmers, and setup personnel to solve production challenges.
- Support new part runs, first-time setups, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Process Development & Documentation (25%):
- Write and refine procedures, create standards, and document processes.
- Improve existing manufacturing processes for efficiency, quality, and precision.
- Occasionally program CNC machines using CAM software and review others' programs.
- Project Ownership:
- Design and upgrade fixtures to enhance manufacturing operations.
- Oversee and contribute to quoting, continuous improvement, and process improvement projects.
- Collaborate on secondary processing tasks like deburring, engraving, heat treating, and plating.
Qualifications:
Must-Have:
- 3-10+ years of experience in a machining environment, must be hands-on on plant floor
- Expertise in CNC machining, particularly lathes, with the ability to create parts from scratch.
- Proficiency in CAM software (Esprit preferred, but experience with Mastercam or others is acceptable).
- Strong knowledge of GD&T and experience in highly precise industries.
- Hands-on troubleshooting skills for both parts and machines.
Nice-to-Have:
- Knowledge of secondary processing techniques (e.g., plating, anodizing, painting).
- Experience overseeing the entire manufacturing process from start to finish.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
- Understanding of CNC tooling.
- Aerospace industry experience.
- Familiarity with CAD and ERP systems.
