- Assist the Manufacturing Engineering team with design, development, testing and implementation of new manufacturing technology and processes.
- The Manufacturing Engineering Technician is responsible for supporting, troubleshooting, resolving, and preventing production issues that affect Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost within internal processes.
Responsibilities:
- Safety: Exhibit safe work habits in all manufacturing processes, following training. Identify safety risks in manufacturing processes and develop preventative actions, with oversight.
- Process Maintenance: Provide support and basic trouble shooting for current operations, with oversight. Ensure that assigned manufacturing processes meet the design specifications, in a repeatable and controlled manner.
- Collaborate with the Production teams in assigned areas to ensure team members have the proper tools, equipment and fixtures to perform their jobs in a manner that supports good ergonomics.
- Analysis: Use Excel and/or Minitab to organize and analyze large data sets for specifically assigned goals. Analysis may require application of Lean SixSigma tools to verify problems and solutions.
- Maintainability: Assist in maintenance plan development, with oversight. Recommend Preventive Maintenance (PM) actions to mitigate failures and ensure safety of equipment. Hands-on participation in scheduled maintenance activities for capital equipment, with oversight.
- Value Stream Mapping: Collaborate to understand product value streams, supporting Lean manufacturing scope. Assist in design of process layouts to improve material flow and material presentation.
- Continuous Improvement: Assist in implementation of new manufacturing processes and technology. Identify and implement cost reduction, quality, safety and ergonomic improvement ideas, with oversight. Participate in lean improvement activities as assigned (5S Blitz, Kaizen, etc).
Requirements:
- Engineering degree (Associate or more advanced technical degree) or
- Currently pursuing an Engineering degree (mechanical, industrial or manufacturing).
- Completed more than 50% of academic classwork toward engineering degree (mechanical, industrial or manufacturing), including proficiency in drafting/modeling.
- Strong communication skills in English.
- Proficiency in Microsoft software such as Excel and Word.
- Proficiency in 3D modeling software, preferably SolidWorks.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask throughout the day.
- Six Sigma Green Belt (Preferred)

- The employee may have a combination of 10+ years of manufacturing experience and an approved plan to seek a degree in an engineering discipline.
