Spartan Truck Company, Mechanical / Manufacturing Engineer - location - Sun Valley, California - Full time 100% on-site position

Description:

  • The Mechanical / Manufacturing Engineer works on a range of engineering projects. This position requires the top amount of knowledge and skills in technology associated with production.
  • Hands on development of New Product Designs
  • Assist with research, data analysis & report writing
  • Assist with the generation of Bills of materials (BOMS)
  • Key member of the Fulcrum (manufacturing software) Implementation Team
  • Collaborate daily with cross-functional teams in Production, Sales and Accounting

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Include the following (other duties may be assigned):

  1. Designs mechanical and electromechanical products by developing and testing specifications and methods of manufacturing
  2. Evaluates mechanical and electromechanical systems and products by designing and conducting research programs and applying principles of mechanics, thermodynamics, hydraulics, heat transfer and material properties
  3. Confirms system and product capabilities by designing feasibility and testing methods and properties.
  4. Develops mechanical and electromechanical products by studying customer requirements; researching and testing manufacturing and assembly methods and materials; and soliciting observations and recommendations from operators.
  5. Develops manufacturing processes by designing and modifying equipment for fabricating, building, assembling, and installing components.
  6. Assures system and product quality by designing testing methods; testing finished product and system capabilities; and confirming fabrication, assembly, and installation processes.
  7. Prepares product reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
  8. Maintains product and company reputation by complying with government regulations.
  9. Keeps equipment operational by coordinating maintenance and repair services; following manufacturer’s instructions and established procedures; and requesting special services.
  10. Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.
  11. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Education, Training & Experience:

Degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering

Excellent Communication Skills, Bilingual Spanish

Knowledge of Manufacturing Principles

Proactive & Eager to learn

Strong team player

Established Project management Skills

Data Management & Analysis

ERP System Savvy

SolidWorks, AutoCAD

Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with emphasis on Excel

This position requires working in a Manufacturing environment. Exposure to paint and other manufacturing chemicals on a regular basis. This is a Full time, 100% on-site position.
