ITW Pro Brands has 3 manufacturing facilities (Olathe, KS, Tucker, GA and DeWitt, IA) and a formulation lab in Carol Stream, IL and employs 250+ individuals.Job DescriptionSummary:Following the 80/20 principles, the Divisional Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for developing and implementing process line improvements, including day-to-day manufacturing support and strategically aligned project development and implementation. The Divisional Manufacturing Engineer will be the Operations ITW Toolbox Specialist. They are supporting and driving 80/20 FTB (Front Back) Projects within the Divisional Operations Team across four manufacturing sites in the US.Responsibilities will include capital project design oversight and '80' project execution. Manage and execute the Mechanical Integrity program according to the requirements of OSHA PSM and state inspection requirements, and plant support as required for general process improvements in manufacturing and data handling. Essential Duties:Work with the Operations Director to specialize in the ITW 80/20 methodology and suite of ITW Toolbox tools.Initiate innovations concerning process and equipment modifications or changes, which improve operating conditions, safety, energy conservation, environmental concerns, and profitability.Manage capital and expense projects from conception to production, including preparing financial justification, specifying, purchasing, and tracking all spending related to the project.Develop maintenance and operator training documentation, conduct equipment qualification and initial training of production personnel, and make provisions for repair parts stocking levels.Work with the Operations Director to represent the interests of the Production Department in discussions with other departments on changes or new installations in the division.Project management tasks include purchasing materials and supplies, equipment installation, budget tracking, employee training, and startup of projects.Monitor process equipment downtime records to identify troublesome equipment and recommend improvements.Calculate material balances when processes change or when directed by the Operations Director.Work directly with manufacturing in troubleshooting and resolving process issues.Research to develop new and improved processes for manufacturing.Supports EHS and maintenance functions with the safe handling of chemical materials and secure management of chemical storage and assets.Evaluating processes and equipment to ensure compliance with environmental and safety regulationsEvaluating production performance to determine efficiency ratesFoster, communicate, and exemplify the values of ITW: act with integrity and trust, operate with simplicity, treat everyone with respect, and take shared risks.Travel as needed for business needs. Performs other duties as assigned.Other Competencies:Proficient in the use of an ERP system, Microsoft Navision preferred.Must be able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, manage priorities, and work independently and on a team.Possesses an entrepreneurial spirit and is willing to take the initiative with a focus on the key initiatives and opportunities for improvement and growth.Self-starter, highly motivated, follows directions well, and can work with little or no supervision.Able to adapt effectively to changes in the work environment in a positive manner; able to deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events.Proficient time management and prioritization skills.QualificationsBS in the relevant field of engineering with a minimum of five years of experience in an industrial manufacturing environment.Working knowledge and experience of Project Management (PMP certification a plus).Continuous improvement toolset experience is a plus. A willingness to use a different CI model is a must.Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Outlook.
