Manufacturing Engineer
Job Description
Exercise knowledge of technical skills and understanding of business objectives, manufacturing operations, and dynamics of the company environment to take an effective and proactive leadership role in a specific technical manufacturing discipline. Set direction for, lead, and take ownership of complex manufacturing engineering technical tasks that may have multiple inter-coordinating elements. Anticipate and identify key issues, make recommendations for resolution where precedent may not exist, and apply new methods and approaches where necessary. Interaction with peers and mentors on projects is generally in the context of peer review to confirm the rationale for task approach direction as well as peer review of verification/validation activities.

The role requires strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to work both independently and in groups, cross-functionally. Job Description

Responsibilities
- Take ownership of complex manufacturing engineering technical tasks.
- Anticipate and identify key issues and make recommendations for resolution.
- Apply new methods and approaches where necessary.
- Consider the impact of resolutions with other system components.
- Engage in peer review to confirm task approach direction and verification/validation activities.
- 8+ years of significant engineering and/or operational experience (5+ years acceptable).
- Expertise in plastic injection molding technologies, mold tool designs, and process development.
- Effective communication, presentation, and documentation skills.
- Problem analysis and fault finding on injection mold tools and equipment.
- Design of Experiment for plastic injection molding process development.
- Structured and controlled working practices with clear and accurate documentation.
- Good level of engineering, validation, and process development knowledge.
- Risk analysis with sound understanding of the FMEA process.
- Ability to work on complex problems involving multiple competing factors.
- Ability to form and develop interpersonal, professional relationships.
- Strong understanding of GD&T and design of metrology fixtures.
- Ability to work independently and in groups, and cross-functionally.
- Proficiency with various types of databases and computer software.
- Strong organizational and project management skills in a third-party manufacturing environment.
- Ability to quickly gain knowledge and willingness to learn.
- Experience analyzing First Article Inspection (FAI) and process capability data.
- Experience with tooling manufacturing sites and interacting with toolmakers suppliers for design & FAT qualification activities.
- Familiarity with cGMP, FDA, and ISO regulated environments.
