The Tempur Sealy manufacturing site in Richmond, CA is seeking a Manufacturing Quality Engineer.
What You'll Do:
- Ensure standard operating procedures are sustained in the assembly process.
- Ensure assembly operations conform to general and mandatory specifications.
- Manage the implementation of new processes and procedures with regard to the introduction of new products or equipment.
- Coordinate with other plants to develop and implement standard operating procedures for all assembly and quality processes.
- Develop and implement improved standard procedures through the lean process and tools; document so improved processes can become organization standard.
- Train supervision on newly introduced assembly procedures in the general specifications.
- Train associates in standard inspection procedures and process audit techniques.
- Create training documents and coordinate training activities with other Manufacturing Quality Engineers.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- BS in Engineering or science/technical field is required.
- 2+ years' experience in Process/Manufacturing Engineering or Quality Assurance in plant environment.
- Process improvement knowledge in a manufacturing environment such as Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, etc., to drive operational excellence system is a plus.
- Six Sigma Green Belt training or certification required.
- Engineering experience in process design/improvement, new product implementation.
- Up to 25% travel is required.
